The second picture of Shekiha Mozah in the green dress is GORGEOUS! Woman's gots styles!

for long gown its better to show some flesh,
but that's the best about arab ladies, they still manage to look sexy even they were covered (if they have a svelte figure)

Who was the better dressed - Carla and the shiekha's green dress was really too much for my eyes I would say and I have to agree with Smoke, both the husbands looked really silly in their outfits:)

NFH, why do you think she "needs" to ease up? and why do you think Carla is not using anything like that? anyway there is 9-10 years difference between them, you don't know where will be Carla, and how much she will be addicted to the cosmetic procedures in another 6-7-8 year...
Also, as it has been mentioned, Carla is just a photo model, Sheikha is a wise intelligent Lady, innovator, creator…
and green was not too much... take into consideration local style, culture, traditions, etc....

QS, the Sheikha is a beautiful woman but IMO she's looking a little too "plastic" lately.
Carla still looks natural.
And lol I thought we were just voting based on the pics, not on what might happen 10 years from now.
And it was "vote for the best-dressed", not vote for the most intelligent or most innovative.

If that's what we were voting for, it would be Sheikha Moza, hands down.

Sheikha Mozah's attire is more original and sophisticated. I guess HH could wear plenty of diamonds if she liked, but chooses to do what is appropriate for the occasion. The green is a bit much, but at least it shows some character and some how seems to fit her character. Carla Bruni was a model so of course people will think she is attractive, personally I don't care for this type and find her very average. Her gown is something typical that you would find on any red carpet which again is not appropriate for a meeting of world leaders. The day outfit is just comical on how it's trying to be so 60's which even the retro version was out 4-5 years back. Bruni needs better taste or a better stylist.

It's got a funky "peasant blouse" thing going on and the belt ruins the lines of the garmet in my opinion (even though they are lovely pearls and diamonds), although I do like it from the back. Carla's dress is the epitome of a graceful Grecian column. Great shoes on Sheikha Mozah though ;-)

BTW, I think the Emir looks great. I much perfer him in traditional clothes (thobe and bisht) rather than when he wears a suit. He's got such panache!

PM, I don't think so.
That can't be a factor making Carla looking more graceful. You can't give her more points saying she has the beauty of a Grecian column. And why compare it to a Grecian column, which IMHO shouldn't be the benchmark for a womans dress. Besides there are columns in other famous architecture forms like the tuscan column & the Composite column, which are not exactly corinthian but still beautiful.They are all graceful but inanimate and not very suitable for comparing with a womans figure/dress.
And if you compare wth any form of column the most important components you will notice are the capital and the pedestal, rest is just the body of the column which may have some vertical stripes or plain.
Now look again at the 1st picture.
If you try to draw an analogy with the above architectural forms, Carla Bruni or her dress do not resemble any slender Grecian column. She doesn't have pronounced pedestal(Hemline) and there is not an iota of a capital in her. So here your Grecian column theory goes kaput. Sheikha Mozah's dress on the other hand does resemble an ornamental fluted column as she has a pronounced hemline and there is a hint of a capital above her bust too.
But I think, in such an occasion it is not the hourglass figure which matters(as Carla Bruni being a former model is sure to win in that dept.), the more important aspects are the choice of colors. HH Sheikha Mozah's colours are regal, and the pearl waist band doesn't destroy any line. It bifurcates her torso from her waistline. That IMHO holds the key to the gracefulness of her dress, without that her dress would just be a flowing robe like a nightgown.
This is just my opinion. All are entitled to their own thoughts.

The First Ladies make a fashion statement in these events. They want to show off their costumes too. Because these are widely photographed events,and they don't want to miss the opp.
