Imam Mahdi Hadith & Quran

United Muslim Nations UMN's picture

I've been thinking a bit on articles at thetruereligion.wordpress.com of Al-Faarooq.

He says "Who said Imam Mahdi is not mentioned in the Quran when in Hadith Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa'salaam says Imam Mahdi has him name (Muhammad)" Interesting comment and views expressed there, the article where he makes this comment can be found at:

All these just makes one think

He also takes on the issues of sects in Islaam, he states in one of his articles "People have forgotten to turn to the Quran they ask others for answers, our Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa'salaam left behind the Quran and his Sunnah for us to follow, we should listen to what is logical and clear for Allah says over and over in the Holy Quran that this is the Book wherein there is no doubt, and also it is a clear message, it is made plain so why turn to people who wish to interpret the Quran according to their own desires, there's only one way to interpret the Holy Quran and that is the right way with Haqq (Truth) the other is Baatil (Falsehood) which usualy come in the forms as fabrication of the truth." On sects and Islaam he says "Allah says not me or you or us or we (the creation) but Allah says in the Holy Quran to all Ambiya (Prophets) Establish the religion and be not devided therein... likewise should we the Ummah accept this commandment" Thus far I have not seen anyone who can be worthy of debating him on religion, Al-Faarooq has many Ulama thinking hard and deep, even priests and rabbis know of him from his logical reasoning.

A question (assuming Muslims have the same outlook):

If God/Allah gave humans (and angels) FREE WILL. Thus, God designed us to be able to distinguish right from wrong/good from evil.

Why do you need a book to tell you what to do?

Having free will does not make one all knowing, nor does it make one immune to forgetfulness.

Otherwise, why do people go to school, since they have free will? And why do people write things in their planners to remember their appointments, if they have free will?

So, the Qur'an sends knowledge about what we don't know, and reminds of things we already knew but forgot, so that by free will we can either heed it or not.

Think about this statment you wrote:

"there's only one way to interpret the Holy Quran and that is the right way with Haqq (Truth) the other is Baatil (Falsehood)"

Well, that is obvious. The question is, how do you know which way is the right way and that every other way is the wrong way?

A little less arrogance and a little more thinking is required of every Muslim nowadays.

Why not just do your best to understand the truth, trust in Allah for guidance, and know that everyone else is in the same boat?

Why does every Muslim today have to think he is the one with all the answers?

The Dude.... said Habib, Knowledge = 1 + 1 = ...

Habib,

Knowledge = 1 + 1 = 2, free will provides the natural instinct to differentiate between Good and Bad, Right and Wrong....

A book can not teach that.

Maybe you feel you are weak and you need a book to guide you.

habib_nuh said Dude ...

No. Free will does not itself provide the natural instinct to differentiate good and bad. It just means you can choose.
People have free will, but many times we are not successfully differentiating good and bad. Otherwise, there would be no war and crime, etc.
But we do have a natural instinct, if you want to call it that, to differentiate good and bad. We call it 'fitra' in Islam - basically human nature, which is good.
But, the circumstances of life cause this fitra to become covered or distorted by other inclinations - sort of like a mirror which can become dirty and smudged so that it does not reflect things as they really are.
The Quran is revelation from Allah intended to resonate with the nature he has created us with, to motivate us and give guidance in clearing our nature from the things which have clouded it. To help us clean the mirror of our hearts, as the sufis say, so that our hearts can more clearly reflect things as they are - including the good and bad.
But if the cleaning of the heart is forgotten, then the book will be useless. Unfortunately this happens all too often, as you can see around us.
So, yes, we have free will and a natural instinct to distinguish good and evil, and also it is true that I am weak and need Allah's book to guide me to my true self.
Perhaps you are strong and always know good from evil and are never susceptible to mistakes. In that case, I congratulate you and hope you can be patient with me and my weakness and need for the help, guidance, and mercy of Allah, al-Rahman.

United Muslim N... said The answers does not come ...

The answers does not come from me or anyone but Allah, concerning the interpretation of the Quran Allah self says "This is the Book wherein there is no doubt", "It is made clear", "It is made plain" this you find thoughout the Quran. How to distinguish between right and wrong is simple because it is naturally built within us we all know the right from the wrong but we tend to wonder off from time to time... To be one who have a clear sense on understanding you have to know Allah very well and to get there you have to first accept Allah for who He is for Allah is the sole Owner of all the Most Beautiful, Most High Attributes, Names and Titles. This is who Allah is and accepting this as a reality in your life you automatically gain more knowledge on a higher level then before each time you open the Holy Quran.
If you've read the article above and then turn to the Quran you will find that the Quran makes sense, sometimes one needs things to be broken down and explained a bit deeper so we may be able to open up our little minds. In the Holy Quran Allah self provides the evidence mankind needs to believe in Him, Allah gives more then enough Info for an Atheist to believe, More then enough evidence for Priests, Rabbis, Missionaries and Nuns to revert to Islaam.
To the smart guy 1+1 = 2 correct if it's the same things get Mr Smart Eintein to help you out to calculate this one 1 apple + 1 pear = 1 apple and 1 pear who said we have two lives or three or four? We live here we die that's one life here, we go to heaven or hell we live there forever that's one life there forever.
Evolution says we come from monkeys, they say the colsest to Monkeys are Black people so I put it to the test show me one hairy black man with straight hair like the monkey and no you won't find one but I've seen many hairy white people yes, the historic development of the spear and arrow accross the world I woneder how many smart monkeys there were at the same time to develope the same weapon... Westers Science is flawed like a flopped cake let the East write its own history, let Africa write its own history, Let the Middle East sort out its own problems or do you want the world to come sort you which is our problem out? Face it good always wins over evil.

Habib good question I'd ask you the same thing... There is no arrogance here it is called sharing what you know with others, so please share the knowledge you have with us and stop cracing the glass on my PC likewise with the "Dude" man you just so un-cool that's just really not smoothe because you are asking stupid questions without a book your mom and dad would not have tought you how to write. You say we don't need a Book to tell us right from wrong, we would not have known right from wrong of Allah had not commanded it from us in the first place rules are there for a reason, what happens to law when there is no copy kept for reference? Man "Dude Guy" rather just get out here before you get thown with a shoe you spoiling the topic... There always has to be some boring guy that comes a long to give his two cents worth but on another note thanks the dude guy because your questions provided the oportunity to give answers so I'm an Idiot for a while ok enough now... Guys contemplate on these findings work together and help empower each other with knowledge.

hapy said I have read up on Mahdi ...

I have read up on Mahdi recently as some people claim of his coming soon or has come and the more i have read the more i start to feel that its a myth.

I have read up all traditions on Mahdi on internet and there appears to be a patternthat is no mention of Mahdi in earliest Hadith books, follwed by mention of a ruler without attributing the title "Mahdi" in Muslim and Bukhari who will appear at end of times and fill the earth with justice.

Ths is followed by later Hadith books which mention the name "Mahdi" and give more explanations about his appearence and describe him meeting Jesus a.s.

Muwatta Imam Malik the first of famous Hadith books mentions nothing about Mahdi. Imam Malik's born in 93 hijri and died in 179 hijry, i don't know when he authored Muwatta, probably around 150 hijry.

Bukhari and Muslim if i am correct written around 300 hijry and do not mention anyone with name "Mahdi". Then come later Hadith books like Tirmidhi and Abi Dawood which mention "Mahdi" and more details of his appearence such as he will be in Makkah and when people pay allegiance to him.

It gives an impression that concept of "Mahdi" evolved with passage of time.

Also notable is that Ibn Khaldoun a respected historian and social scientist doubted appearence of Mahdi and has written a critique of Ahadith about Mahdi and so did Muhammad Iqbal.

United Muslim N... said Yes the Mahdi is not ...

Yes the Mahdi is not mentioned to such an extent, Mahdi is his title and Mohammed is his name. What you should know is that people say a lot of nonsense on the internet, 99% of it is not even recorded by Muslims. As per Hadith it is mentioned that the "guided one" named Mohammed will come near the end of time to restore the world from the current corrupt state it is in. It is not even about what is mentioned in Hadith, if unsure of Hadith turn to the Quran and depend on guidance from Allah Most High. Turning to Hadith books is like turning to people, their names are on it so turn to the Quran turn to Allah, the Guided Imam does exist. You do research not in the Muslim way but on Western ways find a nice quiet study room and learn more.

United Muslim N... said Those who have written ...

Those who have written critique of these Hadith you call them respected? Why? I kinda have lost all respect for them if they were such knowledgable people they would have done more research to back up on what they have written, I actually made the effort to have a look at what they had to say and it fits in no where. Their arguments are stupid and not even logical so why the need to even bother with them? If I write a book today tomorrow I put my name on it and become famous and called respected oh wow no wonder the world is heading in this direction because idiot economist and so called historians have written books? Even Einsteyn or whatever his name was is stupid.

It's quite unsurprising that you call someone stupid whose name you don't even know. Did you hear this somewhere? And are you now spreading unresearched hearsay or even lies? Shame on you.

hapy said UNM, no surprise that you ...

UNM, no surprise that you call people like Ibn Khaldoun and Moohammad Iqbal stupid and you have not bothered to give any explanation to what i said.

Why is that Mahdi is not mentioned at all in Muwatta Imam Malik written around 150 hijry (767 C.E), then when we come to 300 hijry (912 C.E) arond teh time Bukhari and Muslim are written, a ruler is mentioned without a name and only book written after that give more details about him. It shows a pattern of evolution of concept over time.
