'Deep Blue' Salute to QL…

Big Chief Eagle Eye, my Canon EOS 400D camera, came into my life on an unexpected note. A miscommunication with my cousin brother led BCEE to my doorstep. Despite my not-so-happy financial situation at the time, I knew that it wouldn’t be a wasted investment. I’m glad I’m right.

The first few days, I and BCEE went crazy around each other. We travelled to places I didn’t know existed in Qatar and to places I’d promised myself I’d go only once I got a good partner (of the camera kind) with me. The fish market fell in the second category.

Three days after I got my cam, we paid the place a visit. The sights and sounds at the fish market left me speechless. I wrote about it, added BCEE’s views (in the form of photographs) and send it to Qatar Living for the ‘Uniquely Qatar’ competition. And voila, I was chosen as one of the winners.

It brought yet another digital member, an 8 GB Apple iPod, into my life.

Friends, Netizens, countrymen, I’m proud and honoured to introduce to you… Deep Blue, little brother to BCEE (who won him over), Don Whito Corleone (my car, who took us to the place to win him over) and Blackster (my computer, who made winning Deep Blue a deeply meaningful exercise).

1. QL, for giving me my first ever prize for a photo I took. You guys have been wonderful throughout my time in Qatar. You guys are rock stars in your own rights. Way to go, QL.
2. Apple… I so adore the iPhone and now, the iPod. It never ceases to amaze me the power of the devices you guys make. Although hardly bigger than my finger, the amount of sound my iPod packs within is astounding.
3. iSpot at the W Hotel, Doha… For being uber friendly to its customers. They were patient with me when I didn’t collect my prize for long (it took me forever).
4. Special thanks also to John, who manned the iSpot counter when I went to collect Deep blue. Thanks, dude. You just convinced me to return back there if I were to purchase an apple product.
