maybe they buy licenses to ...maybe they buy licenses to copy the body shapes or something like that... i know russia at some point used to buy the patents for repeating some italian cars body shapes...so body was more or less nice, but inside it was crap..

I think the problem is that ...I think the problem is that many companies didn't think about registering their names/logos in the Eastern markets.. Also, they just tweak the design enough to get round the copyright laws..
By the way, the Rolls is a Geeley and costs around 170, 000 QR..

kinda reminds me when i was ...working in HKong,evrything was based on a copy or pattern of a designer suit,designer bag,designer pair of shoes.
since i was an accomplice to that before,the normal procedure was to acquire a prototype of the real thing.after a day or so, we would return the bought garment to the shop and ask for an exchange of another pattern we think would sell well in the market.
quite smart the chinese boss but very criminal.
as for cloning,,,,well i havent seen my chinese boss get pregnant and push a duplicate prada bag from her uterus,so i wouldnt know if she clones her products too.

Siemens - German company - known for superior quality all over the Electrical World manufactures Switch gear in China.
The Quality of Chinese products can be same as branded ones with out making you pay for the brand image.
I knew a guy who was importing items from China -
He said - Chinese Manufacturers have a BOM (Bill of Material ) ready for all quality items.
He can charge you from Bomb to dirt cheap... Depends on you which one you wanna go for....
He ll manufacture tht for you..... :)
But This hard working and aggressive Business spirit...
Cannot hide the fact tht the Govt is Communist and labor Exploitation in China is not a Secret. :(
