some ccontractual companies in the UAE offer that kind of package to my friend who was applying as a draftsman with 4 years experience only

well my friend, try to bargain with them your expected salary, who knows, you might get it.

better to be sure than regret later.

rents are going faster than our increments, if you get unlucky, you might have to take a part from your basic salary just to pay the room you rented

if it's for you then it will be.....don't rush

example of engineer package to out company,

Basic Salary - QR10,000 (ave.)
Allowance - 5,000 (ave.)
Special Allow - 2,000 (ave.)

well mandi, he deserve a salary like that coz he has 17 years of experience while a lot of people here has not even reach a 10 year experience but they earn more than 20K

they are robbing you!!!!!!!!!
an engineer with 17 years of experience should be getting 20 to 30 K of basic salary!

uhmmm just wondering ... does the agency your talking about supply workers in Kahramaa..cause base on what my friend told me Kahramaa hired people directly... and just in my opinion the salary they offered you is way to low... am just administration assistant with less than 5 year working experience i am having the same salary as they offered you. ask them again for more reasonable salary. base on your experience you deserve more

Hi.. I'm from Kahramaa... recruited directly from the Philippines w/ no Gulf experience, just this January '09... I've read the thread, too bad for an experienced engr.. but well, in the 1st place why did u accept a jr. level position.. if u really think u deserve an engineering position why settle 4 a jr. one? I've got 18 yrs experience and I was hired as a Sr. level engr.. that's why I've got farrrrr betterrrr offerrrr.. try to negotiate for a sr. level position.. how can u bargain for a better pay if u only have a jr. post? do u think a clerical position no matter how experienced he is will be paid higher than a true-blue engr. with only 3 yrs. experience? think about it....PARE

I have brothers and sisters working there in Qatar and I'm planning to visit them next year. Is it possible to apply directly to Kahramaa?
