School waiting lists

Please help. We are trying to move out to Doha fro the UK this October, but are coming up against a brick wall with school places. Every school seems to be full with waiting lists. How on earth do you get your kids in to schools, especially those teaching Engliush curriculum. It seems to be impossible?
Many thanks
Jo

School Waiting List ...Jo I know it is very difficult to find spaces in schools here. I heard today that quite a few students left Qatar from the International School of London. However, not sure the number or how accurate the information is. Website below.

I would start with Sherborne ...I would start with Sherborne and International School of London. Those are the newest and you'll probably have the best chance with them. How old are your kids?

ISL is NOT British Curriculum ...Since you mentioned you are looking for British Curriculum, worth noting that ISL does the IB and not the UK National curriculum. What years are your children? Sherborne does have limited spaces in some grades.

Thanks everyone. The child ...Thanks everyone. The child is 6. I heard there was a school for children in transition. Anyone know much about this and whether it's any good? Thanks.

Cedars-just as vague about ...Cedars-just as vague about whether there are any openings. Frustrating. Sherborne actually told me that there ARE openings. Park House said there were none, but they weren't rude about it, like many of the schools. I am getting that there are some politics involved in whether a grade is 'open' or not, but I am a pretty down to earth American and I don't like game playing.

Compass and Sherborne ...Well, it is good to know that there are some places still available at the new Sherborne school. The bad news will be the fees (and the extras).
