Is it fair?

"Dubai: A woman has been fined Dh1,000 after her pet dog bit a female. The incident happened after the dog was left unattended in a public place, ruled the Dubai Court of Appeal.
The dog bit the Iranian victim in her arms, legs and buttocks.

As much as I love dogs but I think that this is outragous! If this female victim was my mother/sister/wife/daughter I think I will not stop unless this dog owner is severly punished, and I mean jailed, deported, heavily fined (100,000 Dhs), but most of all; not to be allowed to own a dog in the future, exactly like a drunked driver should not be allowed to drive again after causing an accident & injuring people.
A 1,000 Dhs? Huh...won't even cover the medical expenses.

No, it's not enough ...and even if the wounds are not that bad, the incident would definitely cause extreme fear and trauma for the victim. I would expect the animal to be taken from the owner and a larger fine at least.

Sad, isn't it? ...Find a lost dog & receive 30,000 QR, be eaten by a dog & get 1,000 Dhs!
I think it's about time dogs stop discrimination against humans :-)
