nice and decent person Alexa. The sadness moved you. It is good that your humanity remains strong and that you are not indifferent to other peoples sadness and suffering. Shame that everyone doesn't share your compassion.

well still alot more worse happens than this which are never published or shown but yea maybe by chance some one captures a short clip or some pics and are either posted in their blogs or some other sites.
Here in the pic they are just preventing. no one is using any guns i think.

Alexa said I have made the picture ...

I have made the picture larger.

Yes, they are not using guns, only sticks :(
But what really moved me was the face and the posture of this old man...
I know there are much, much worse things happening in this world.
But I feel this picture captures what is going on in this world in it's entirety.

King Edshel said Alexa ... ...

The guy is just holding the rope tied to his donkey head in his hand. What happened there is ... you know ... political stuff that no one wants to talk about it. Do you really want to know or see something that will make your heart really cry and not your eyes?

I was there at the first two years and they start shooting at us and they were using the 800 mil bullets that they use to bring down planes and shoot it at people. I see headless people around and people with open holes in their chests going through to their backs that you can see the other side through it ...

I just don't want to tall you more, moments like these hunted my for years and still sometimes :( What you can see is nothing, but the fear that i lived their was a different story ... Apache Helicopters shooting at you from the top ... while the tanks are firing missiles at you down ... and the rest is nothing but tragedy ... :(

I know King...it is all a very big tragedy. And I think you are right, if somebody would really want to do something about it, it would be over and done with by now. King, we are just little people, all we can do is have compassion and pray for all those who are suffering.
As I said before, this man's face shows all the fear that is so widespread everywhere in this world. It really touched my soul. More than any pictures of blood etc. ever could.

PM's picture

PM said Yes, Alexa it is heartbreaking ...

My adoptive Palestinian sitoo (grandpa) and sita (grandma) are facing many problems getting his residency visa renewed since he is so old (mid 70s). So far, the Qatari immigration department has refused to renew their RPs. Where would they go? They cannot go back to Gaza as their land was stolen in 1948. He and his family escaped with their lives because a kind Jewish neighbor warned them of the soldiers coming and helped them hide so they would not be killed. Where can they go? They have no country and they will not even let them back into Gaza because they only has refugee documents. they have lived here for 40 years. Where will they go and who will take care of them?

The old man in the picture reminds me of my sitoo....

don't they have this, what they called immigrant system here too? I heard they do! same as in Saudi my friends had been there for more than 20 years and because the husband is earning good wages and the wife is a business woman so they decided to applied because if they go back to Philippines they can't have the same life style and earn what they earn now. so they heard about this immigrant system and they applied for it. It does need approval, but they know some Indians and Sri Lankans nationality had been approved.

PM, have you tried to get an audience with the Emir?
I don't know how this works here, but in Saudi the king receives people at a certain time every Friday, where they can ask him for favours.
And it is not only Saudis who do this.
Maybe you can get some info on how this is done here, if at all.

anway what has this got to do with Hamas?
the person was just doing his duty.

Alexa's picture

Alexa said Stealth, I talked about the ...

Stealth, I talked about the face of the old man, that lead to PM telling about the old couple she knows.
And if Hamas sees it as their duty to beat old men with donkeys, well, that says it all.
Did you not see the face of the old man?

PM's picture

PM said No Mystica & Alexa ...

They don't have that system really working yet. My entire adoptive family has been here for at least 30 years and all the kids were born here. They have applied over and over for immigration whenever it has been announced that it would be considered, but they always get a run-around and "insha'Allahs" that don't mean anything.

I have not asked for an audience with the Emir but if the few remaining avenues don't work I will certainly see who I know that can help me try to achieve that. I have no doubt that if he knew the situation, he would resolve it, insha'Allah.

Tomorrow if someone puts up an image and say US or UK or for that matter Israel one can just expect the reaction to be something else.

Look stealth, this was not particularly about Hamas for me. It happened to be about Hamas, but it could really have been anywhere or anything.
For me it was what this old man's face showed.....fear,confusion etc.
