I find it really funny that a lot of people in this region want Barack Obama. I can only assume that it's because of his strong stance on Iraq, because it can't be for his other social beliefs.  I really don't see this region supporting gay marriage and pro-choice, amongst all those other liberal ways that are so demonized on this site.  Funny.

Obama is all rhetoric and hot air.  He seems to me to be nothing more than a populist who just says all the nice warm and fuzzy things that the voters want to hear.  Like all the clap trap about change, without ever actually providing concrete examples of what it is he wants to change, and what he will change it to.

Obama can barely stand his ground next to another Democratic Presidential apirant (Clinton).  I would love to see him in a Diplomatic dispute with a strong leader like Sarkozy or Putin.

One thing I do admire him for is his willingness to have open dialogue with Tehran, Hamas and Hizbollah, instead of the idiotic Bush policy of 'not negotiating with terrorists'.  As if bombing them is a far better solution.

At the end of the day, for my money, Clinton is the most compentent, experienced and inclusive of the contenders. In fact I'd rather see McCain win before Obama.

These people doesnt have to get the best facilities (in their field) to function.

A Great Leader doesnt have to be "The President".

A Great Sportsman doesnt have to be the "Fastest".

A Great Thinker doesnt have to be the best Student in Class.

A Great Architect doesnt have to be a Good Painter.

They achieve greatness irrespective of the environment around them.

Barrack is on his way to Greatness (it is quite visible through his thinking, speaking and actions). He doesnt even have to be the President to achieve whatever he is bound to achieve.

    Good point Gypsy.

Colin Powell's decision not to run for President was based on his fears of being assasinated too.  Maybe Obama wants to complete the hat-trick of assasinated Black leaders, following on from Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.

Teddy Kennedy didn't want to be number three of the assasinated Kennedys, after the deaths of Jack and Bobby.

Americans Presidents don't have terribly good odds when it comes to people trying to kill them.  Just ask Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and JFK, who were all killed while in office.  At least 11 others were targetted (Jackson, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and both the George Bushes).  Taylor and Harding both died in suspicious circumstances.

America simply isn't ready for a black President, even if Oprah disagrees.
