The Land Connection Fees Same as FQ - Pearl Q

From reading all the comments regarding the connection fees with FQ, I took it on my self to have a preliminary meeting with my developer which I unfortunately purchased from (The Land) and I was shocked after I asked what I should expect to pay during my handover which is planned in Dec. 2009, the answer was almost the same charges as posted by FQ, accept they told me that Elec. and Water company (Kahrama) have decided not to add new connection charges other than the normal 2000.00 QR deposit fee. The Land promised to have something in writing in 3 to 4 weeks regarding all fees.
When I asked about the tower which is already handed from UDC and the low charges, they mentioned that this tower (#4) is still running on generators and the owners will be paying connection fees very soon.
It seems that we all who made the decision to purchase in the Pearl Qatar have made a major mistake. I own a lot of properties in many countries and I have never heard of such thing paying 10s of thousands of dollars to connect a property but I have to say I should of waited until the development is done and see the outcome.
I ask all who purchased from The Land to contact them and ask about the true story of the connection fees and I ask the Qatari government to really intervene to make the Pearl Qatar succeed otherwise this will be a really bad start for the future investment in Qatar.
