COULD ANYONE THERE PLEASE TELL ME THE FULL DETAILS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR HOUSEMAID VISA. I'M A FILIPINA AND MY HUSBAND IS EGYPTIAN BUT I DO PREFER A FILIPINA MAID. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AND IDEA FOR THE PAYMENT OR WHERE TO START. ISN'T POSSIBLE TO TAKE BY VISIT THEN TRANSFER THE VISA HERE. BUT I THINK IT WILL BE MORE COSTLY.PLEASE ADVISE.....

Rules
1. You cannot get maid of same country (rumour?)
2. You have to be above the income limit to be eligible to apply.
3. Applications have to be in the name of the Man.(It could be Husband or Father).
Documents needed:
1. Salary statement. - Of Both Husband & Wife
2. Id copies - Of Both Husband & Wife
3. Passport copies - Of Both Husband & Wife &Children
4. Labour APPLICATION form
Labour Department Typing fee = QR3
Labour Department submission (free of charge).
They will veryfy if things are true & you will need the Housemaid.
Labour issues a Receipt
Wait 3 to 7 days.
When results come if positive go to Immigration. With same documents & fill form:

4. Immigration APPLICATION form
Immigration Department Typing fee = QR3

Immigration issues a receipt
Wait 3 to 7 days.
Immigration sanctions your receipt on website that you can employ a "Servant".
With Immigration Receipt you go o Manpower to employ a particular nationality housemaid. They give you a complete set of biodata to choose from. You choose one. Then the Manpower processes the Visa.
Qr 1,800 to process the visa.
Manpower charges are approx QR6,000. Inclusive of Air ticket. Qr 3,000 before the maid comes QR 3000 after the maid arrives. Inclusive of Air ticket.
So the charges are:
Qr 3+ Qr3 - Typing
Qr 1800 - Visa Fee
Qr 6000 - Manpower agency.

You cannot choose the person of your choice.
Ok you can make a selection but if the selected maid refuses to pay the Manpower or if she falls ill or if she gets a job in a different country?
The whole process is crazy....but that is how it is. But the Govt side work is fast. In Qr6 & 14 days you get the Visa/Sanction.
Its once you get the Sanction that the Story (trouble) begins.

Possible for her as, it's her husband who will sponsor the maid.

OR
Submit the applications of your prospect maid's passport copy with her photos. If she's already here she has to exit to Bahrain and come back the same day no problem, she needs to show an NOC from her previous employer. NOTE if her visa is cancelled from previous sponsor, there would be a penalty in each day of her over stay here. And you can find that penalty at the immigration Building # 1.

After this the Work Permit is stamped on her Passport.
kevjoe You seem to be employing someone locally....ie works for a Qatari on her passport & actually working for you.
There are many many maids (I personally met 5 maids) who run away from Arab family because of the canning that they received. They seem to have a cane to whip these maids....

Not entirely true. My husband sponsored a maid for us, even I'm not working. When the Immigration ask him what do I do, he just said I am looking for a job and we need a maid. and after 3 days the approval was given and we requested for a Filipina.

What is the minimum wage of Filipina house maid?
I know Srilankan Housemaid minimum wage is QR900. (Although they are paid Qr600)
KevJoe you also have to sign the Work contract regarding the minimum wages, hours of work, days off...etc.

jack mohan ...thank you for ur reply. ya my maid's sponser doesn't ahve an issue. but the prob is now maid is demanding more salary. i'm fed up with her indirect hints. so thinking seriously about getting a maid under our sponsership. sometimes i get frstrated witht he whole situation.

I still prefer Filipina . Filipina housemaid is the best in the wholewide world yikes but its true and I'm proud of it being a Filipino. I am afraid if we will request for Filipina they will reject .

I am Filipina, And we sponsored Filipina but, chuck her off after 3 months, due to ungreatful attitude after all the help and effort I did for her! now, I have Sri Lankan and she's the BEST ever! I never been so please with maid before but this one is really something! HONEST, DILLIGENT, CLEAN and VERY CARING with my kids.

Kevjoe, Maids already here, ...Kevjoe, Maids already here, have advantages and disadvantages, if the maid is already here, you don't have to wait for so long, you will be seeing her at once if you like her or not, i mean to say that if she look industrious and easy oriented or like heavy to move, sometime we have the feeling that this person is good and smart. Aside from you can speak of here personally and make arrangement and agreement, from salary and if you want to test her first. Disadvantages are, The salary is not lessthan 1000-1500. it depends of your agreement if she live in or out. That she would have a day off. that either you sponsor her or not, if not, the salary might not lessthan 1200 if first timer. If you have to transfer sponsorship with you you will need the requirements mentioned by Jackmohan, and pay 1000 for nakal kafala and 500 so to not to go out of the country anymore. For Filipina 700-730/mo. if you get her from agency, and the placement fee is 6500Qr. The most reliable agency is Shaheen in al Saad, above Automatic Restaurant, near Venice. I am sorry i don,t have a no. but if you need it, PM me and i will find it for you.

You have mentioned that Filipina salary is QAR 700-730? It is against the Philippine Labour Office Law. You cannot get a contract like this anymore. Once you give a salary like this your housemaid has the right to sue the employer. You should give at least QAR 1000 as per the new contract agreement . Whoever gives less than QAR 1000 can be reported to the Philippine Overseas Labour Office.

Maids...
Local maids.....have a wide network of friends ...so they might also be romantically linked (nothing wrong ..everybody has emotions & desires). But you might not want her to get knocked up and the neighbours suspecting it to be your hubby.
These friends also give constant updates about job availablity & if she gets a better job then she jumps to that house. (This is when she is under some Qatari's sponsorship and she is working outside with or without his knowledge (ie ran away from his house).

I 've just visit the agency of Jassim Decor and the salary is 730Qr. but the good is you havethree months to test the maid, you can give her back to the agency before 3months if the maid wanted to go home or you don't like her.

The said contract as per ...The said contract as per labor law is not really followed. It is not yet being forcefully implemented. Just think of it, who will buy that, $400 salary of maids, there is a competiton for workers also, Ethiopians are in trends hehe.. in place of Pinays are Indonesians. So if the Philippines Gov't wanted to help lessen the inflation rate in the Philippines then they should think before making the law for workers.

Am yet another working mum and was really upset to hear my maid's application has run into problems.
I would like to bring my Indonesian maid with me to oha. She worked with us in Malaysia and is a gem. But I just heard from m hubby that the application has been rejected for some reason.
I am quite distraught and would greatly appreciate if you know or could advice on what to do next.
My hubby made the application and did not include a letter stating I was working as well. Is it really difficult this whole maid application process? How long does it ususally take?
I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks a zillion
