Donation Campaign for the people of Philippine
Dear QLVG/ QL Members,
First of all I would like to Thanks to 'WitchStik' and 'Smoke' for their initiatives in this regards.
Let us kick start our Donation Campaign with 'WitchStik' thread which she created sometime back:

Hi everyone!
I'm writing with regards to the recent flooding disaster in Manila.
Firstly, I'm a little disappointed that I am the first one to post something on this. By now, I thought the QLVG would be all over it.
There are a lot of people who have been directly or indirectly affected by the recent flooding as I'm sure most Filipions in Qatar have been. I ask that we dedicate a bit of our time to come up with ideas and action them to help the victims in the Philippines.
Anyone who has specific contacts or know Aid organisations in the Philippines, please share what you can.
Lets pour out the suggestions. I'm sure those who have lost their livelihoods would greatly appreciate the helping hand.
Lets action this ASAP.

You can try to contact ...the FilEx admins to share and exchange ideas. the group did already a campaign since day one and the members did a great job in making the collections, assorting them and sending them back home.
Still there are more typhoons coming, at least 3 of them and the damage in some places is really far beyond the capability of small organizations to support the people and fulfill their basic needs.
All thanks to the QLVG for organizing such a donation campaign to support the victims of those typhoons in the Philippines.

for your information lots of people had awready started the action even before you heared it-not through QL though.
Through QL, there would be a lot of non sense discussions before the action.

teepatter.... just a piece of advice 'always look on the ...both sides of the coin'.. QL is an example of a coin.
We as a volunteers also involve in lots of good and bad discussions but that does not mean that if a person is discussing something worng does not go out and help others.
I don't know if you have ever been to any of our QLVG campaigns in past. We have more than 500 active volunteers on QL. When time come to help humanity, all the Qlers comes forward and gather under one roof.
Come tomorrow and see with your own eyes, you will be surprised to meet these people, how kind and generous they are by heart.
See you all tomorrow in IBQ Parking at 4PM.

You could have just say 'thank you' to the person and inform her/him that efforts were made and accomplished by other groups here in QL but all were hush-hush projects.
The non-Filipinos don't know that Fil-expatriates made various drives/projects for the typhoon victims...

Good morning,, ...I quit QL for a while, after the Iftar Drive, as I needed to focus with school. Thank you for those who have sent me a pm to bring this thread to my attention.
I feel for those in the Philipines, and my heart goes out for those away while their families are struggling back home. Inshallah this Drive will bring some relief and hope back into their lives.
SPEED, please let me know how I can help/assist with anything.

..they have started, we have started and I have just started...the donations gathered may not be enough to support all those victims but for sure it will reach the remote places where no vehicles can pass by. VOLUNTEERS will do!

Now, you say that PITSTOP loathe filipinos? Since when? It's quite surprising you'd say such as you don't know her that well.
QLVG group members and some QLers knows PITSTOP and she has nothing but compassion/kindness for the less fortunate people, irregardless of nationality.

Just popping in to say ...Just popping in to say Thanks to all that made it to the donation drive yesterday. There was a LOT of stuff brought in. Not to mention i got my car washed in the process something i was putting off doing for a long time lol. Right people at the right place at the right time :)
