You start with "What do you think about Vending Machines in Qatar?", What do you want to know? Why don't you ask questions like:
Who owns them?
Who sells them?
Is it legal?
How much does one of them cost?
How much rent do I need to pay to get one installed at XXXXXXX?
Do you think it's a good idea to start a vending machine business?
What do you think I should sell in my vending machines.
Your question is similar to "Vending Machines, Discuss!"

Vending machines are a good ...Vending machines are a good investment, if manage properly. Knowing the partnership of Qataris most of time they are taking their monthly plane fare, gas expenses and dinner ahead of time, for me is not worth spending time and money in something like this. Not in Qatar.

Vending machines... ...... need maintenance, regular stocking up, to be serviced properly. Would that be possible in Qatar? I doubt it.

seriously vending machines should be placed strategically around doha not only confined in hospitals and some parking lots as per my observation.

I came to this thread ...I came to this thread because I thought it might tell me why you all don't HAVE vending machines. Well, I've not seen any yet. Of course, I haven't gotten far afield of the hotel and malls, yet.
Does anyone use CHANGE in this country? I haven't gotten any. I handed my son two quarters from the bottom of my handbag and he wondered what they were:) He was looking for some Qateri coin, and I haven't gotten any to show him!

boer is right.. ...They are actually Aliens disguised as vending machines. They extract your DNA when you use them and then build a clone..

It is not up to the Vendor ...True that VM are supposed to be almost everywhere as in many other countries, but the problem in this country is the stirct regulations, conservative rules and slow procedures. If it is up to the vendor, then he would spread as much VM as he can in many other locations other than hospitals.
Who would like to have VM in his workplace? pls state your company name

I am not sure I would want ...I am not sure I would want to eat a sandwich from a vending machine here...... No ones accountable for anything here, it is kind of "take your chances". 9 times out of 10 the bloody things would be rancid. Also, with the heat it would be pretty hard to keep things from turning to mush unless the only things they stocked were crisps and cookies.
I would much rather go get something from one of the million shops in Doha than take my chance with a vending machine. The shop does eat my money and give me nothing in return :)

i have noticed that qatar ...i have noticed that qatar has much fewer vending machines as compared to the UAE.over there,we get to see vending machines almost around every corner.heck,we had 3 machines inside our school campus for selling coke and pepsi.then there were vending machines that made warm vegetable soup,cappuccino and hot chocolate on the corniche there.it was a real treat during the chilly winter months when we could sip on some freshly brewed coffee and stroll along the corniche.sad we have nothing of the sort here.

It was the funniest thing ever... ...I had my car parked in the souk , waiting for someone , when two nepalis came and put one riyal each in the pepsi vending machine right infront of me...after around ten seconds , one nepali , tried to shake the machine , so i knew that something's wrong...the machine didn't give them their pepsis...the second one , bent down and tried to look up the hole of the vending machine...while the second one was clicking on every button there was...so after too many shakes , hits , and curses...the vending machine stood still...yet no answer...so ofcourse ,me dying from laughter in the car...and they are two meters away from me cursing and almost crying...
three minutes later they left...so me being curious , naughty , i went there...i wanted to see what's the problem...so i looked at the screen and there was written : 2 riyals correct change...so i thought hell...i clicked and clicked on every button but yet i had the same fate as those two nepalis...so i said to myself..."sir dolly , put one riyal and try yuor luck...you might get out with three pepsis..hell i'll go with a mirinda , mountain dew and pepsi...so i put one more riyal...and after five minutes , here i was standing infront of the machine , staring at the screen saying....3 riyals correct change...but as we all might think...the machine didn't give me anything...
