Shocking Business - Parents be Cautious...
A maid regularly drugged the seven-month old baby in her care and rented him out for Rs100/- a day. Every day the kid was taken by street beggars well supported by begging racket run by a mafia. The outrageous act was revealed when the mother returned home earlier than expected and found the child was missing. Upon questioning the maid, she revealed the complete story.
Working parents often depend on maids and leave the kids under their "safe custody" during the day. But in the fast moving cycle of life parents often fail to double check on maids and sometimes the symptoms/abnormal behaviours of toddlers remain unnoticed.

Gone are the values and ...Gone are the values and morals that direct people from doing what is right. People are now sick to the core, using an innocent child for their sickening criminal acts and personal motives and gains.
The parents should really be careful with whom they leave their kids to while at work or away. There should be an intensive background investigation first of the nanny/babysitter before hiring her services.

It is not easy to trust ...It is not easy to trust someone with your child. You have to be really careful, but you can't always cover all the bases.

To be paranoid is sometimes ok. ...When my child was a toddler I used to secretely check everything about him whenever I came home from work. I'd check his skin for any signs of bruises, scratches, etc. I would observe his reaction towards the maid if he was afraid or not. I'd look at his eyes for anything un-ordinary. Thank God everyone who became a part of our household was good to my son, until such time I found someone who stayed with us and loyally took care of my son for years until now. I could say it was ok to be paranoid at times, just to be on a safer side, especially if it concerned my boy.

Lesson Learned... ...It is not all that easy to find a trustworthy maid nowadays. Even if you think you have a good caring maid, you need to be right on top of them to monitor their freedom, activities and local connections. A surprise visit at times and continuous monitoring would allow you to assess the situation and act accordingly.

i do this and my wife too,
sudden checks in non patterned timing is the best to find out if anything wrong.
still, not only the maids that we have to be aware of with our children, even relatives and friends, everything is becoming crazy in this world.
Yalla!

And once in a while it is ...And once in a while it is wise to come home early or un-scheduled. This way a parent could catch a maid off-guard should she be doing something fishy.

This happened in Kuwait ...Once in Kuwait a maid took around the child she was caring for and she happened to go to a relatives house who recognized the child he was dirty and in ripped clothing, she claimed they were homeless and hungry. How ridiculous the things people do to make money. Another scam was the maid kept repacking household goods, like soap, detergent and selling it in the neighborhood, my friend wondered why her bill was soooooooooooooo high. The are more ways to scam people than your imagine can. Their are nanny cams I even see them for sale here in Qatar.

Very sad and scary ...Its better to have someone from our own families to take care of the children or frequent visits to home to check will be pretty good to keep things in track
