Qatar 96 back in the race
I was at the Cornish earlier and Qatar 96 got their spare boat up and running in time to race today. When I left they were running in 4rth place and looking good.
Coming back by the Cornish after the assr salah there was another boat overturned and it looked like Q96's replacement boat! I couldn't tell because there were 4 white boats running and the replacement Q96 was white too.
Anyone know if it was them?

Q96 came second, a great achievement considering the spare boat was readied overnight. After the race was over, I was walking with the navigator of Q96, Matteo Nicolini, and he couldn't believe in starting the race, let alone coming second.

I thought Matteo Nicolini is ...I thought Matteo Nicolini is the Throttle Man on Qatar 95 and Old Steve (Curtis) the Throttle Man on Qatar 96 ?

Who won, Victory? man they ...Who won, Victory? man they were on fire out there in the water. They had half the track on all the boats when I left and were getting ready to lap the last runner (yellow boat, forget their name).

Victory 1 ...they won the race by a 26 second margin. Full marks to Qatar 96 for the big huge comeback of the day. I felt my chest swell with pride when they (sheikh Hassan and Curtis) stood on the podium to get the second place trophy.
They are good men and bad things rarely happen to good men. When they do, they still come out of it smelling of roses and with the spotlight firmly trained on them.
Vive la Qatar 96!

khanan... ...Ashgal, right? On the second last floor? I've been there to interview him before. I was held up by traffic and he waited for twenty minutes. Accepted my apologies with a smile and told me it was ok. He has a way of putting the people around him at ease.

AbuAmerican....Q96's Replacement ...You're right, the Q96's boat was replaced because one of it's engines stopped.
With my car radio on early this morning, I heard it was not doing well in the race, and Victory is well ahead. Salaam
