Driving School in Qatar
Been reading comments and forums especially the driving here in Qatar
and ask: why still so much troubles on the streets, accidents when in fact getting a drivers license you need to pass a series of driving exam and mostly have to undergo driving lesson and refresher courses. Maybe it has something to do with the quality of existing Driving School and lessons.Maybe something must be focused on the Quality of Driving School Instructors.
Can we hear personal experiences with these driving instructors' style of teaching? Are they really good in teaching? Or might be having difficulty in communication with the students driver since this is a multi cultural multi national country?
Your inputs can be of big help in assessing and solving driving problems in qatar.
thank you:-)

Quality of Driving Schools ...Hmmm based on my experience, I enrolled half course just to familiarise the crazy round abouts of Doha. Since I have my driving license back home I was approved for 25 days. Unfortunately I was assigned to one instructor no need to mention his nationality whom could not speak English well. I felt pitty for them coz he told me that If I will help him he will help me also which means every end of the day you have to give him some extra extra hmmmm ... which id bribery for the students especially ladies. If you passed another extra extra . If you failed you have to give more extra . I asked one friend she said they are doing this since the Driving schools don't pay them that much. I don't understand as well. Cost of driving lessons is QAR 2000 for full course and during that time the instructor was getting QAR 600 p.m. . So if you want the instructor to teach you very well you have to give them extra extra

i dont think its with the ...i dont think its with the quality of the driving schools that must be focused on this. most of the accidents can be blamed on the drivers attitude and lack of road courtesy to other drivers
with regards to the way they teach i couldn't say much since i have a driving license back home. i just went in for a few lessons just to familiarize myself with the LSP and r/a.

In my experience my ...In my experience my intructor was really good but, i don't think i was ready for the test when they scheduled me, i was only driving for two weeks, no knowledge of driving before, an absolut first timer! im not saying that im not a good driver or a good driver, but i past the test.....
And to be honest with you if i was the police who did the driving test i would'nt past myself at all, im not that confident in the road and even the others who past the test, i think it sooo easy to get the licence here compared to U.K, as what my husband told me....
But i do agree with ohbee one it's the drivers attitude is the problem here.

Getting a driving ...Getting a driving license is not easy, but only for expatriates...
not for locals...
and here in Qatar, as far as I have seen... expatriates do have road manners as compared to locals....

if we have good foundation ...if we have good foundation in driving school, then we could learn the basics including basic attitudes on the roads.
anyway we are entitle to our own opinion and i'd like to present from the other side---another;s perspective!

Its people who go to driving school who have some manners... ...Its people who go to driving school who have some manners...
Those crazy nuts you see there racing away, tailgating & flashing lights are the ones who have got the licence without attending schools.
I saw 2 Arabs at Doha Driving school. One came to give the test driving a Pickup - He passed the Internal and failed the Road Test (Which means he was driving without a valid licence!!! That was the only day I saw him.
. The other was a boy around 18yrs he was trying to overtake me in the driving lane at school, can you imagine!!! Saw this crazy guy for only 2 days.
