Chronicler of the Winds is my first book of him. If I like it, I am gonna' buy his other stuff. I checked the titles of his other works and they are pretty interesting (e.g. "The Dogs of Riga", "The Man Who Smiled", "Before The Frost", "Faceless Killers").
I am planning to have "Chronicler..." next in line as soon as I finish reading Hosseini.
What Mankell book do you have? :)

This time I can't believe ...This time I can't believe the bulk of my purchase at a combined cost of even less than the discounted price of a standard paperback. For only Php145 (that's about 3 USD or 10-11 Qatari Riyals) my baggage was made heavy with eleven used books- one hardbound, and ten mostly acid-free softbounds. That's more than I can chew! Here's the breakdown:
China Dog by Judy Fong Bates- Php5
Jacob Atabet by Michael Murphy- Php5
Agartha, A Journey to the Stars by Meredith Lady Young- Php10
Testimonies by Patrick O-Brian- Php10
The Social Fabric, American Life from 1607 to 1877- Php10
America's Children by James Thackara- Php10
Stranger in Paradise by Sayeh Dashti, Ph. D.- Php15
Ravel Remembered by Roger Nichols- Php15
At Swim-Two-Birds by Flann O'Brien- Php5
Next Season by Michael Blakemore- Php5
World Regional Geography (hardbound)- Php45
I got the books from Booksale, SM Baguio City Branch (Philippines).

Arabia Through The Looking ...Arabia Through The Looking Glass - Jonathan Raban
The Cairo Trilogy - Naguib Mahfouz
Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
I'd highly recommend them all. The first is a great insight into Arabian life (including Qatar), albeit a few decades ago. The second is probably my favourite book ever. A stunningly well written insight into Egyptian & Muslim life encapsulated in a beautiful story. It won the Nobel prize for literature. The third is a classic that needs no introduction.
