Cost of living
Hi Every one,
Iam from Chennai (India) and newto this forum and would be greatfull if some one can help me on the following
- Iam offered a IT software sales job in qatar
- I have around 11 yrs exp and what can be the package i can ask for?
- What is the avg rent of a single bedroom apprt?
- I need to bring my wife along with me .Do the employers sponsor visas for spouse?
- What can be the avg living expense on Food,Transportation,utilities for a couple (excluding the rentals )
- Is qatar restrcited as compared to some states in the gulf?
Would ne helpfull if some one can answer these questions.

Thanks for you advice.Can i ask for 15,000 QR + Housing + Visa sponsorship.Will this help me lead a decent life and save little.Iam looking at saving 9000 QR(after spending on food,utilit and other stuff for 2 ppl).Is this possible if i earn 15,000 QR?
Note :-I appriciate your sense of humour( Particularly for last line in your ealier reply QATAR IS NOT YET RESTRICTED ....)

Put in your expences a car, ...Put in your expences a car, because without a car here it's not possible to live and move anywhere. 15K is not that bad. Visa in any case will be provided by your sponsor. Don't foreger medical inssurance and free air ticket.

The position is IT Software Sales Consultants.(I have a total of 11 yrs exp)
The Fixed Package will be QR 8,000/- per month
The Variable will be QR 2000/- per month
The Variable Salary will be distributed quarterly.
In addition entitled to
a) Family Status.
b) Company Medical Policy for yourself , wife and two children.
c) Air Tickets for yourself , wife and two children.
d) Paid Annual Vacation of 30 days
This is what the company is offering me.Is this a decent package?Any suggetions,advice?

If you company provides ...If you company provides housing, then it is worth taking it for the kind of savings you are looking for.

Don't count on the variable ...Don't count on the variable part of your salary, because it could be 0 to 2000QR. With this offer you wont be able to save 9K, but 5000-6000QR depending of the monthly settlement you are to pay for your car.
PH you should be well aware that people are coming here to earn and save money, so the salaty in the country of origine has noting to deal with the job offer in Qatar.
