Dear Friends,
Before you proceed reading this article, please download the attached "Organ / Tissue Donor Card". Please share the same with your family and friends.
As per general survey, there are more number of people who die in road accidents and due to other causes, compared to those who are waiting for organ transplant. Even if 10% of the community steps forward and agrees to donate their organs after their death, just imagine the difference it will make in the community and the family of those who are in need of such donations.

DOHA • Currently there are 360 kidney patients undergoing dialysis at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and most of them are seeking donors for a kidney transplant, says an expert from the Nephrology Department at HMC.
The number of kidney patients has been on the rise in Qatar, with 150 to 200 cases reported every year. About 20 per cent of the kidney patients in the country die every year.
Many of these lives can be saved if there are enough people willing to donate a kidney, said Dr Hassan Al Malki, consultant, Nephrology at HMC, at a press conference yesterday. HMC will mark the World Kidney Day with a three-day programme starting from tomorrow, under the slogan, “Donate an organ, Save a life.” Hassan said, despite several campaigns in the past to promote organ donation, the response from the public was very poor.
Since 1986, HMC has carried out 90 kidney transplant operations but the actual number of people who needed a transplant was much more, said Hassan. About two-third of the kidney patients in Qatar are nationals.
Mortality due to kidney failure in Qatar is on par with international rates, added Hassan. One out of every 10 persons in the world is a kidney patient.
Diabetes and high blood pressure are major risk factors for the disease and about 50 per cent of the kidney patients in Qatar are found to be diabetic. Hassan advised all diabetics to undergo annual blood tests to diagnose or rule out a possible renal disease. He said early diagnosis and treatment can prevent total kidney failure.

Just two days ago I took my daughter to get her admited into KG I and was surprised to know that they actually interview kids before admiting. Anyway, my baby doll cleared it with colors :-)
Dam, schooling is expensive here... As I see, I have spend the same amount for my life time education in my home country so far compared to my daughters one year fee for KG I.

When we die we can't use any parts of our body anyway, so why not donate in a good cause that way we give someone else the chance to live who without a donation may die too.
I have a donation pass I think it is worthwhile and like Maxmo would like to encourage everyone to think about this.

Dont worry, someday all your good deeds to your children will paid off once they graduate from UNI with hope have a good degree and straight away find very reputable job. As a parent thats all we can do.

already a donor, maxmo... ...Its on our driver's license back home. If you can make a difference for someone after you don't need the organs anymore...it would be a great testiment to your life...They can use almost every part..skin, eyes, heart, kidney's liver, etc...just think of the number of people you can help when you don't need those anymore.

i was raised in this way, that this is the right thing to do. my dad has it even in his last will-use whatever u can and burn the rest.

The aim of this topic is not to scare any one with anything.
I still remember, my father use to tell me, remember death atleast ones in a day, that will bring you closer to the life.
Anyway, for those willing to save others life after them, can simple print the attached document and keep it with them in there wallet as there concent document. Meanwhile, I have requested MOI to consider adding this as part of Driving Licence, QID and Health Card.
