WINDOW TINTING ...There r lot of tinting places- Vkool, johnsons tint, zeibart and many more, all mostly on salwa road. Althought there r many brands, i think all of them use the same films ie. 3M, scotchbrite etc. Do a price comparo, some r very expensive.
Check with the traffic dept.(MADINAT KHALIFA) as to what percentage of tint is legal. You'll need to get a permit frm the traffic dept. No biggy- juz ask the typing guys and they'll type an application for u which has to be stamped by cops there.
Rear window tinting is illegal here just like in many other countries.

Tinting!!! ...U jst need a permit! There is no permission needed for how much % u need to tint.
If u going for quality wise Johso, Vkool and so on... are good ones price also 500Qr per window bt if u wanted less price then go to any car accessories, they also tint cost might highest to 30qr for two window.

Thanks ...Appreciate the advice. Exactly where do I go in Khalifa traffic police station. I've been there before near burger King round a bout. I paid a ticket there before. But there are many windows and less people to guide you. So when I walk in to the car park where do I go and what do I need to bring? Please be specfic. Then I assume I bring this paper to any car shop and they will do my windows?

window tint percentage limit ...THERE IS A LEGAL limit on the percentage of car window tinting. I think the maximum is 5%, not sure though. Dont go for the cheaper tint cuz they fade n the UV block isnt as good as the branded ones. The branded films r very thick so even a low% tint blocks lot of UV rays n provides good cooling.
U cant tint your front windshield, its absolutely illegal, u cant even get a permit for that.
Every once in a while i see cops stopping vehicles with tinted windows, they ask if u hav a permit n if u dont, they ask u to peel it off.
YOU NEED TO GET A PERMISSION FROM THE TRAFFIC DEPT. NO MATTER WHERE YOU TINT YOUR CAR, DOESNT MATTER IF ITS THE CHEAP CAR ACCESSORIES PLACES NEAR CRAZY SIGNAL OR THE EXPENSIVE BRANDED TINTS.
And as for the permit, ask the sudani typists inside. Tell them u need to get a permit for 'makhfi'(arabic for tinting) and they'll help u.

I pay him QR 50 to do the run around for the permit, while i just waiting in his little office in the police station in madina khalifa. You will need your registrattion card.
The permit cost me 24 or 25 QR ... plus paying his service QR 50, in total i spent QR 75.

legal to tint all the side glasses ...can any1 tel me is it legal all my side glasses to tint 10% max. including driving side???

Novita, you probably have ...Novita, you probably have been taken for a ride! Yesterday, I went to the Al Rayyan Traffic Dept, I simply paid the cashier QAR20 and instantly got the permit. No letter required, no sighting of ID or any other documents. Possibly I received postive discrimination being a Caucasian male but I would advise any one to go straight to the cashier before asking the translator for help. Some Qataris have advised me that the Rayyan dept is the best service for this.
The auto shop in Salwa Road charged QR50 for both rear windows for a basic 50% tint. Same price for a 100% tint. Maximum allowed for front window is 10% not 5% (at the same price).

Mind you when I did my permit the traffic police office in madinat khalifa is not as good and organize as now. There were no queue and crowd everywhere.
Nowadays they are very good and things are straight forward.

confused! ...hey ppl... got a problem,,, help me out.. i have got a saloon car and i want tint all the windows including the front and back windsheild to 10% from pj johnson. what i want to know that is it allowed by the traffic department? i would though go and take the permission for makhfi..but is that enough??

believe me tinted windshield ...believe me tinted windshield make your car alot more comfortable in the summer. I tinted all windows. Front side and windshield are transparant, the thicker one only at the back. And I can see the difference during the summer.

I just tinted my back window. I plan to tint the driver and passenger windows too. I already tinted the rear windows. All "limo" tint. I see many vehicles from UAE totally blacked out. Will see what happens; I have no permit (yet). I just want to block some of the hot sun! Update to follow if I get pulled!

just to clarify ...as long as you have a branded tint you will not have any issues, i only have a permit for my rear windows which you can only get from the traffic department, but i have got V kool done for all the windows including the front and read windows. Just make sure when you tint you ask them how much is legally allowed in Doha, they will tell you which one to put.
I know that it is allowed as just last month i had my car inspection done, and they had failed it for the tints on my window as a major fault, we just went to the cop he just signed and said no problem.
so that means its allowed and i got the registration renewed for one more year.

Simple tinting is the best ...Got my tinting at Car 2000. Talk to Hanif, he did the tinting. Excellent job. On B ring road with all the other car accessory shops.

My car tint is 10% ...My car tint is 10% front,back windshield, driver side and passenger side, back window 30%. i have a permit for this, one instance checkpoint the cop ask how much percentage of the tint and i told him 10% and thats it. no problem at all.

car tint cheap price ...guys jus click below link and do tinting for very low price and i m sure its 100% original branded and equal to wat u all saying vkool or jhonson. find suitable guy to fix this thts all....
