bbksiu's Suggestions for Living in Qatar
This thread's purpose is to guide you to do things while being in Qatar & the Muslim World. I suggested earlier drinking camels' milk, eating dates, drinking ZamZam holy water (if brought from Makkah), visiting Dahls, & seeing sand dunes.
I also suggested avoiding drinking. Furthermore, I suggested covering up for females who reached puberty.

It shall end at 5:25am.
For Muslims: As I know there is a special prayer for that event. Ask the imam in your masjid when will they pray.
You could make estighfar & give charity as I know.

I could also suggest truffle searching in Qatar's deserted areas. Did you notice Qataris walking in the deserts searching for something? They are searhing for truffles.
Avoid using your cars to pass the little trees. Police will give you a violation ticket.
The truffles session might end soon.

Many Qataris here eat ...Many Qataris here eat truffles with rice. For example, they make Mukboos of truffles.
I tried it boiled once. It was delicious.

go to the old villages ...since we are together let us talk.
if you go north on the sea line you may find some ancient dwellings part of them are still standing and in shape and you can trace the whereabouts of the old dwellers from the lanes and common places and even the old plan of the traditional home. from alkhor and up north you find more than four spots of this despciption. you will need the dual weekend to cover all of them. happy sightseeing.

ooo ...Well the beach at Dukhan wasn't the cleanest but there were loads of shells and we were the only ones out there. Also, try to get them out to the Inland Sea. Fun ride out there and very beautiful. Beaches were very clean where we stopped.

bbk can you tell me about ...agreements. It is my understanding that in Qatar a man's word is his bond. Is this true? What are the ways in which I can come to an agreement with a Qatari? What are the rules. Any information is much appreciated.

As I know it is a sign of hypocracy in Islam.
My opinion is that agreements must be official. Oral agreements are NOT enough.
For example, when you borrow money from someone, it needs to be written. That is mentioned in Qura'an.

Curcumin might be the proper ...Curcumin might be the proper name. I think Kurkum might be red or yellow. It is not hot like pepper.

Yes, natural remedy for sleeping ...I need it. The so called herbal remedies for sleeping are not so natural if you look at the labels. C'mon bbksiu help cure our insomnia the natural way.
