How to hire house maid.

Hi,

 

Please HELP ME...

 

I wanna know what is the procedure for hireing a full time house maid and what is an average monthly salary and benifits to be provided???

 

Also, please let me know what are the common term and conditions applicable to hire the house maid and if there is any agency which can assist in find desired house maid...

We've been pretty successful using the newspsper, Gulf Times. We put in add to whats important to us, about 75QR for 3 day run.

We asked for an English speaker, salary 2000QR a month, this included transportation. Basicly 5 and half days a week. She cleans and does a bit of cooking and mainly watches the kids.

No need for agency. You'll get about 20 calls, weed them out based on English on the phone. You may interview 5 or 6 and go from there. Hardest part, trying to explain where you live on the phone and people not showing up. I'd recommend book interviews roughly at the same time on one day.

Bigdaddy,how abt the visa for ur maid? is it ok to keep a maid  who is under someone elses sponsership?

I'd recommend getting a full-time live-in housemaid from a housemaid agency.  The initial QR7000 agency fee is big but there are many benefits. 

 

1.  Lower monthly salary (QR700-800)

2.  She listens and obeys exactly what you want

3.  Doesn't cause you trouble or grief

4.  She's available any time so you can you use her anytime.  Of course, I'd give her time-off everyday and once a week.  Also, I wouldn't go too far in waking her at 2am to fetch you a glass of water.

 The visa is QR500 for one year for this kind of housemaid.  You can find a housemaid under someone's sponsorship.  Some of my friends do this.  But she is not as loyal to you.

Is English your second language then I apologise because maybe you don't know the correct colloquation... but if not - GET HELP!

There are good and bad to Sponsoring a maid, I can see both sides. We prefer to have someone else sponsor. Ours currently is sponsored by another individual. Its been fine so far. Less hazzle I fine but its a personal choice.
