I was met at the airport by my boss first day in Doha and we went for a drink ... I cannot forget all the memories in this place

spent my birthday there 2 years ago (w/ Junarc & Jaxs) ...I'm teary-eyed as well as some of the best gatherings happened in Aussie Legends Bar...QLSG meet-ups, and all those times...
Maybe they will build another RYDGES somewhere?

RIP ...This is was bar in Doha, a girl could go in, even on her own, be safe, not be bothered cos the crowd was really good. The pool area, the pool table, cold winter nights - it was a perfect place & felt more like a club house in compound villas that a hotel bar!!
The rooms with a view were amazing too....
Will miss all the good stuff abt the Rydges... RIP :)

demolition of such a big ...demolition of such a big hotel would not have happened so soon in a democracy if the same was built after the approval of the concerned state machinery..
it would take a long legal battle to be won by the state..
have the aussie group been compensated well?
can this damage to their property be compensated by the insurance company if it was covered??

The Aussie Bar on top was always a good time.
Also Rustico restaurant off the lobby was excellent.
Just seems the good places are goingto the waste and being replaced with junk.

This is wastage, and another ...This is wastage, and another insensitivity to customers' desire in this place.
Rydges was a place to be. I remember my first week in Doha when some friends took me there. Can't forget it in a haste. Building new hotels will not replace the memory. Its should have been a good business sense that old hotels are preserved than being demolished .... there cannot be another Rydges. Shame.
