Money
As i followed so many discusts about salary and saving money here is my question:
Why are you all afraid to not earn enough money?
Why money is the most important thing in your lifes?
Must not be health in nr 1 position?
Or the luck to have a good family life?
Or the joy to have friends and to spend time with them?
For me it looks like most of us cares about the money first.
Sorry dont wanted to offend no one but it looks strange to me.

IMHO, in cultures where ...IMHO, in cultures where earning money is traditionally a male domain, I guess saving and earning money takes first priority. Earning money does not mean ignoring health but some sacrifice on personal and family front may be there.

NOTHING IS FREE ...Nothing is free nowadays...we need money for our food, shelter and clothing. these are basic needs. the loss of money leads people to poverty and out in the streets, homeless. this is the essential for survival. for good health, you need food to sustain it, a balanced meal (you buy food in grocery or fresh markets); some maintenance such as vitamins and other supplements (you buy these things in pharmacy). if you need to seek medical assistance to check your condition you certainly need doctor's fee.
so is it not a major concern to our daily lives?

Welfare/retirement ...Welfare/retirement funds will most probably be non existant by the time we reach the age to be eligible for it...and even if it is available, it will be minimal. I plan on having a comfortable life, now and during old age. Therfore I need to make money and save/invest.
Health is very important, but again, if you get sick and have no money, your chance of survival / good medicare is rather bleak.
Money can't buy happiness, but if you are a happy person, it can greatly enhance enjoyment.
If you are unhappy, it at least can make your suffering a bit more comfortable.
Basically, be realistic, money makes life better if you handle it right.

It's a gross generalization and I think it is ignoring the vast philanthropy that goes on among some of the wealthiest people on earth. I have been much poorer in my life than I am now (al hamdulillah) but I was not MORE generous when I was poor. If anything I gave a much smaller proportion of my income to the less advantaged because I was one of them and didn't have it to give.

hey swissG. take it easy... ...hey swissG. take it easy... i am very sure u dont need any medical help. just take ur time out of QL... and spend more time wid family. a lot of answers rests with family and only by their company u can find the answers.
follow these steps:
take a deep breath through ur nose and imagine it being cool and is running through ur nostrils to the brain and cooling ur head and going down to your lungs hold if for a sec or two and release it imagining it releasing all the pain and stress in ur life wid it.
by the end of it u feel fresh and so go do wot u want to. :)

One point i do agree with you, that person should not involve himsel that much in earning money that he forgets about his family/ his health/ his friends and ofcourse the needy people ... if the money earned and not spend on these thing then there is no use of earning money in life
