DOHA TO BAHRAIN BY CAR?
Has anyone in here driven to Bahrain recently? If so how long did it take you? Is there anyway to "mapquest" it, not necessarily using mapquest...but just to get a distance?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Moving from Saudi said
Been there, done that ...WWWesg,
the drive from Doha through Saudi to Dammam (al Khobar) takes about 4-5 hours along "camel drive" where the animals tend to walk on the highway at night. The next step it to cross the bridge across to Bahrain which after 5pm could take up to 4 hours especially during holidays or Thrusdays. Once in Bahrain, all normality will return as going through the "crossing" is mind boggling with the mix of crazy Saudi drivers and the unbelievable security. Have fun!

Tracing the way ...Me too. I drove to Bahrain from Doha during the last Eid (last October?). I tried to use Mapquest and other online maps. You can view the route using Mapquest but it is not clear. I spent a few hours tracing the route on paper from Mapquest and my hard-copy map. I seem to remember there being a few crucial round-abouts and turn-offs that you don't want to miss. Otherwise, you'll end up in Hofuf, Riyadh, or nowhere. I found it quite an adventure find the Bahrain causeway entrance.
