apocolypto ...was based in central america during the era of the mayan civilisation. so "they can not be like the ones" but "can be similar to" alot of islands around the world still hold true tribes, the same can be said for parts of africa and south america, so it is possible. Interesting fact, on the island of Fiji, the last reported case of cannabilism was as in 1936.
