Consulting opportunities? (McKinsey,E&Y,KPMG)
Hello folks,
Seems like a nice forum you got going here. Am new on this site and was wondering if anyone could provide useful information/advice about applying to, and the growth prospects of, the local Consulting industry in Qatar.
Specifically I'd be interested in info. on intl. companies like Schlumberger, McKinsey, KPMG, E & Y, HP etc, more on the strategy side. Any advice on applying, market share, clientele and industries served would be greatly appreciated. The ME/Gulf websites of most of these companies offer limited info and some only list a general e-mail as a way to apply; so am looking for some info. about the ground reality from ppl who're actually there.
A lil intro, am an MBA from one of the top business schools in Canada with a few yrs. experience working in analyst roles for some large multinationals, however not consulting firms per se (yet) :)
It'd be great to hear from anyone who could provide advice or insight. Looking forward to some lively n interesting discussions (career, fun/social & others) with all you guys here.

Primarily I wanted to know what kind of clients and industries the consulting companies in Qatar serve and the type of work environment they have.
Generally, I know that Delioitte and Ernst & Young have quite a presence there and any info on what kind of work (in Consulting/Advisory services, not auditing) they do would be helpful. (eg. is it all oil & gas, what about telecom, strategy, supply chain etc?)
Since I'm not in Qatar yet and don't know people in those companies there, all types of advice would be great. And if there's anyone who's in HR/Recruiting in those companies or knows someone else who is, it would be great if I could get in touch and find out more about opportunities. The MBA is in Strategic Managment and Consulting and I have a couple of years of good, relevant experience at some large multinational companies as well.
Thanks a lot, any advice would be really appreciated.

I work for one of the big four here in Qatar and I can help you pass on your CV.
But just to let you know, the pay is not that good....There idea is that they give you the name and the experience.

others r right btw.. the pay ...others r right btw.. the pay is not good at all in the big 4 consulting side.. but u can get the name and the experience and benefit from it in the future.. it really depends on ur career graph as well.. some people join big 4 to get the name recognition.. other than that i can tell u E&Y has most of the market share in qatar.
