Can you access P2P bittorrent in qatar

Hi there I am moving to qatar in april to work for a well known television news service. I have been looking around this site but so far have not found out if you can use bittorrents in qatar. I see that you can get upto 2 meg DSL which is good if expensive but the question is can i download stuff.

I know that skype was blocked for some time so am curious as to what else may be blocked.

There is an excllent site called www.tvvova.com that lists english TV programmes available for download. It would be great to still have access to the site in qatar so I can still watch topgear !!

This is my first post and i would like to also add what an excellent site i think this is. Full of usefull information about qatar and has gone some way to making me feel much more confident about moving to the country thank you very much.

Bittorrents worked last time I tried (last year) to download a linux distro....

BTW, You can get BBC World and BBC Prime on satellite here...both of them show Top Gear..

Many thanks for that info. I had a feeling BBC prime was shown out in the Gulf. I hope its part of my cable package !!.

Also does this site have a search facility I havn't found it yet !!.

Looking forward to coming out there and seeing all the stuff I have been reading about.

Anyone know if you can hire jet skis and if there are kite boarding instructors. I think it might have been touched on in another part of the board. If you can't hire jet skis I presume they will be available somewhere to buy

I always use Bittorrents to download alot of movies and shows and I had no problem at all with it.

I use Durie to download movies...but i also think bittorent and p2p work well and not blocked

It is a private tracker that you have to join. They take registrations every couple of weeks. The download speeds are amazing here in England it will be interesting to see what they are like in qatar.
