Engineering work for females

Hi,

My wife and I are shortly moving to Qatar. She is a female civil engineer,will she be able to find work easily? Are there many female engineers in Qatar? We have seen some jobs that specifically ask for males.

yea u can find, but it will not be promising. Mainly it will be paper work.
there are some international companies here in Qatar which will be good for ur wife. scuh as, Cansult, Projcas, Parsons, etc. one way to find about these companies is to go to UK embassy and take the british business forum.

Unfortunately, its still a male dominated society with respect to traditional skills like engineering, however, bazzmaro is right to suggest trying european companies who are more inclined to hire someone based on their skills and experience. Things you will have to accept, though, are; firstly, your wife may have to be comparably more qualified and/or experienced than her male counteparts, and, secondly, she would most probably be remunerated less than them too.

However, there are exceptions in all situations and you should apply and see.
