Salary ranges in Qatar

Hi all, my research on finding out what is obtainable here in qatar, leads me in discovering this site. i must say it has been an imense help to me. thank you all for all your priceless contributions.
well my quastion is almost the same, and have been treated accordinly, but i will like to know the salary range of security personel who are working in Pearl GTL project. my company (Kellog) wants to take some us that are experience in Gas project/construction security network to qatar, but our major fear is the condition of service.
does a security personel receive up to $1500 in oil and gas project in qatar per month??? atleast the current Pearl GTL project???

Hi everyone, I am an engineer with MSc. Degree in quality management and 10 years of experience in organisations structures and development as well as quality management systems professional trainer.Recently,I got an offer for an organisation development position in Qatar, I was offered a net salary 2000$ and allowances 1000$, they said that it is acceptable for living in Qatar as a start having 3000$, I am expecting to get a detailed package offer within 2 days and I was wondering if this offer is acceptable as a start salary for such position in Qatar, or should I negotiate? And what are the most important things I should ask for and should be clearly stated in the contract to ensure that all allowances are covered?
I don't know what are the living expenses in Qatar, therefore,I need an urgent advice on the range of salary+allowance in Qatar

I got you mail id from qatarliving.com , and thought you would probably be the best person to get in touch with . I am currently working as an Oracle Apps DBA for Oracle India(bangalore) . I have about 3.5 years of experience and have been offered a job for the same role by Mannai Corporation (doha) .

They would be providing me single accomodation , and conveyance to and fro office . They have asked me to quote my expectation . I really have no clue about the market there . I am suppose to get back to them with details about my salary expectation , and if i want to take office accomodation etc . Now in either cae if i accept the accomodation and without accomodation please let me know how much should i ask for???

Kindly help me decide on my salary based on the company i will be working for (Mannai Corporation -oil & pertroleun company) ,my experience , my ex-company "Oracle" i have worked for , my certification as an OCA and also fact that accomodation on single basis will be provided with conveyance . I think you will find that overtime (certainly in the oil sector) is based on basic salary. I didn't think anyone still paid COLA (unless it's recently been introduced)

hi, i evry1.i got an offer from qp for ccws plant as an hse-assistant salary offered is 3500 aed+ free food n accom. i don't have overseas exposure. is it worth to go for or negotiate further.

COLA was a common payment to all nationalities in KOC for a number of years. Certainly up to the invasion by Iraq.
It wasn't limited to secondees from organisations in underdeveloped countries. It was also common in many other Gulf State based companies, including some of the major state owned oil companies. It's only in more recent years that it has been incorporated into the general rates of pay.
Other payments that have disappeared were "dry ration allowance" and "water and kerosene allowance" to name just a couple.

Can someone tell me what the salary range in the travel industry is for a supervisory post in a travel agency for 9+ years work experience. Is 8000 riyals without accomodation ok for a start for a single lady.

It depends on how you would like to live. If you can live in a sharing room, I think you can start with this salary. However, if you wish to have an independent accommodation, it will be very difficult for you to save a penny.

I am sorry but i would like to tell in Qatar the same in other nations also....we can not remove politics. Even you are top ranking board passer or whatever, if you come to Qatar, your competetors, (a cousin or friends or whatever u call of that in position) the competetion will be too hard. They are always prioritizing their cousin or friend and offer good package even that cousin or friends of them does'nt know anything......report on duty, sit, drink coffee or tea, smoke, talk to mobile or telephone for almost 4 hours making the line soo busy that client & costumer can not able to reach the company......

 Hi.. i have an offer in rasgas as a utility operator, single status, free housing, medicare,with a basic salary of 5349QR and 1300QR for trans allowance, I' am married and my wife is 4months pregnant..idnt know if this offer is good and  some of the benifits that rasgas offered was not in the initial offer list, i am in the middle of nowhere bec, i dont know the standard salary rate of utility operator especially for filipino, they say that rasgas is one of the good paying company in qatar but upto now i'm still waiting for thier final offer..

I would have thought your salary is reasonable and now I'm surprised why it is not so?  I could only guess that the housing allowance or accommodation is already part of QR45K, hence that could be the reason.  However, if this amount does include the accommodation, should I consider it reasonable, for someone from a western country such as Australia or the United States?

You should also browse other threads in QL and please look into costs of accommodation. That would be a good start for you to plan your budget and compare against the salary that has been offered to you.

For 2,000 riyals it just isn't worth it, unless as Dweller says, it is a way of long-term career promotion. If he needs that particular experience on his reseume and he wouldn't get it at home, sure, but if he just wants to save money, then 2,000 riyals isn't going to cut it, particularly if he has an debts at all denominated in pounds or NZ dollars.

I was mobilized to Qatar abound 2 years before, workin position as office administrator for an oil based company.

From the begenning itseld ma salary was law, Qrs.2000 and I am an indian.

until now there is no incriment is ma salary and wen even i am askig they are sayin not yet not yet. And as u all know its relly difficult to live here Qatar with such salary.

with all due respect, i do not think it is a matter of no need to move if you are employed and being taxed. i know you stated other points, but........ I think this person wants to know how much he should make in salary by throwing out some ideas. lots of bites!

I am from the States, currently living in Egypt. I have applied for the post of nursery teacher and offered the following:
5,500 Qatari Rial/month+ Shared villa with the rest of the staff+ electricity paid bills+ air flight tickets+ one month paid vacation+3 weeks paid end of service.
Is it worth it? will I be able to save any money?
NB: I still have one year to go at my university here in Egypt. I major in Finance and accounting. If I accept the offer this means I'll be postponing my degree for a whole year. I'm an A+ student and a hard worker.
Do I further negociate with the director of the nursery or forget the whole thing?

The salaries in Qatar ranges between (500 QAR and 180,000 QAR) per month.

Please look at school fees. They are very expensive provided you can get a spot. I am not there yet but if you combined offer is 24,000QAR a month and housing is provided then you should be OK. It depends on how you live. Good luck.

The majority of companies (if not all) do not openly publish their pay scales.

depends on the organisation and on how much importance (in the wider scheme of things) they attach to the job.
Two years experience for a Co-ordinator role doesn't appear that much.

If you search the site for Dukhan I am sure you will find other members of QL teaching/living in Dukhan and enjoying their time.
You will receive a payment for air or sea freight and a furnishing grant that depreciates.

why would you consider to work abroad for the same pay you are presently receiving? besides you will spend here about QR500-QR900 per month for food alone... and i think this is not the best time to move here coz every company is talking about retrenchment brought about by the crisis... but of course if a company offers you a pay of QR8,000 or more, accept it but not QR1,930 ...
