Is there any Christian Qatari?

My question is simple as I like to know the diversity of the local people. Or they all Moslem?

My country is moslem country and we have minority of Christian, Catholic, Budha, Hindus and Chinese Religion.

Hard to say coz i have been almost to every majlis of their's every family even the ministers. but never heard or seen any Christian Qatari [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
My post refered to Gulf-Times article today about "Pope urges religious freedom in Arab states" and make me wonder is there local Christian and because of the issue matter force to leave the family and country. I thought somebody might knows somebody with similiar story as I very much like to know and learn the culture here. But anyway, I will keep waiting till somebody convinced me with either answer YES or NO Everybody is right and Everybody is wrong, its depend where you stand
I've been in this country for a long time and haven't heared for one. The Pope is concern for Foreign Christian Community elsewhere in the Mid-East.
Sebastien Sorria (the footballer) is Qatari and he's probably Christian!
Mariam-mar understood the Pope concerned. I was just wondering if there is minor Local Christian here in Qatar. I guess Not huh? I am thinking about Lebanon, Egyph, Jordan and they all have minority of Local Christian. Everybody is right and Everybody is wrong, its depend where you stand
""probably""??? hmm well that doesnt make it sure. well if you be a good player in any game the sports authority will give you Qatari passport just to present Qatar as a sports man. [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
In the year 1997 when My sis was staying in that year, just opposite to her house there was this huge Christian Qatari Villa. My bro in law was doing dawah thats how he came to know and he personally met him
Is it Christian Qatari or Should it be Qatari Christian, Can an English guru clarify please.
Either way the person would be Christian and Qatari... so where's the difference?
I am the one....
There may be some Christians in Qatar but I don't know for sure. I knew a Christian Kuwaiti when we lived there in the late 70's early 80's and apparently he wasn't the only one.
I know there are few but they are difficult to distinguish since they wear the same dress and have the same names as muslims.
and how sure can you be about that?? 1 in 100 i am always between them and i never spotted out any one.instead they always drag me to the mosque. [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
I've heard of a Qatari family who called in a Pastor for healing their mentally retarded child...After the child was completely healed..they were askd to convert, for which they agreed...But they still aren't showing out that they blve in Christianity...because they would be put to death if the Govt knows about it...I blve thats the case in all the Islamic countries...
you have HEARD but you YOURSELF arent SURE 100%. and thats impossible i dont believe. coz such cases wont go unnoticed.not at all. AND WHERE and who was that paster from??? [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
I asked a friend that question a while ago, and he said that there's no such thing as Christian Qataris. Their passport would be taken away or something. On a second note, Lebanese Christians are definitely not a minority. In 1932, Christians made 55% of the population. But since then, more Christians than Muslims left Lebanon and so today the Christians are 40% of the population, which is still not minor. I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong -Garfield
sem in indonisia, malysia, lebanon, turky? u sure luet-v? [img_assist|nid=64234|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
To all of you. Thanks for the comments and infos. Now I can make simple conclusion that maybe there is Christian Qatari, only they are so private and certainly not to declare to the world. Thanks again to all and wishing nice day!!! Everybody is right and Everybody is wrong, its depend where you stand

There are Christian Turks and churches.
Super Expat is right Qataris who are Christian: Sebastian Soria Fabio Cesar Marconi Costa and another one. Any others who converted would have to keep it 'hush hush' I went to a church in Shiraz and spent the afternoon listening to stories about Iranian Christians...very interesting as they do get the death penalty for apostacy. Anyway how many Qataris are Shi'ite and how many Sunni?
interesting article about christianity in middle east http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4499668.stm QATMAN Your question about Qatari Christian or Christian Qatari I think the standard form is Nationality + Religion. If I am not sure I think about what is written in a reputable newspaper and the form seems to be: British Muslim - Indian Muslim but you may find examples to contradict this. For example Iranian Christian sounds better to me than Christian Iranian. bye Orry
You are wrong here my friend. They are given nationalty for a certain period. [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
DaRuDe Yes you are so right... they are De Facto Qataris.... That's true - they ask for the passport back if you are naughty or they no longer require your services... There was the athlete in Bahrain who ran in Israel and he was asked to relinqish his passport.
No Problem you and me can also get Qatar Nationality. and that by getting in a marathon long way in african sahara. so what do you think this July we go to africa :D [img_assist|nid=21285|title=.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
There are no exact figures of how many shi’it Qataris, I’d say 15% more or less. Like Sunnis the shi’a Qataris are Arabs & Persians. As for Christian Qataris, there are few families (originally from Palestine) .
Oryx, Thanks for the clarification.
