Price are average.
Lot of varities.

Doesn't stand up to the standards followed by the hotel back in India.
The difficulty of finding a suitable car parking spot is soothed off by the lovely ambiance of the hotel; but the food, except for dosas, is incredibly bad.

I'd recommend Aryaas anytime over Saravana Bhavan.

DISASTER!!! For all these days we have been waiting for Saravana Bhavan and it turned out to be a disaste

We were there in the first day when it opened. The restaurant opens at 5:30 evening and we were there at 6:30. We waited for around 20 minutes for someone to take the order...there seems to be only one waiter designated for it and the restaurant was full....

We ordered a 'masala dosa' to have a flavour of Saravan Bhavan and alas its 'not ready' yet. We went thru the menu and tried ordering somemore dishes and atlast the bearer told us only idli, vada and plain dosa is available.

We did not want to spoil the mood and ordered vada and plain dosa....and the another wait of 20 mins!!!

End of the day the dosa neither the vada tasted anything like a Saravana Bhavan special nor did all of the sweets which we bought and tried at home!!!!!

Hopefully the management should be doing much more than getting a franchisee contract from the group!!

I went with my family on the second day i.e on thursday night. There is no regular parking slot as such. Just parked car on the side of the road and got inside just to find more people are waiting outside to get a place to sit. There were no adequate staffs to make seating arrangements. Went upstairs and tried my luck, but there it was more chaos. So i had no other choice but to return back to my favourite outlet Vasantha Bhavan.
We have decided not to go there atleast for a month and allow those people to settle down and organize themselves. Till then bye bye.

we were there with our family on saturday night and there was no A/C working and the place was too crowded..
we really got perished inside and the standards are too below saravana bavan back in dubai or india.
we ordered rotis and kulchas which turn out to be very hard material need hammer to break it!!
i wont suggest this place to anyone since its no value for money what we pay>>>!!

We went there last Friday night (07-08). As everyone said there was heavy crowd and no place for people even to stand after 20.00 hrs. We went before 20.00 hrs and we could manage a table.

The taste is very nice compare to other south Indian restaurants in Doha. Somehow I feel price is little bit high.

We have to wait atleast a month to get a clear picture

I Would give the following Rating for the newly opened Resturant - Sravana Bhavan:

Food - Excellent - 4 starts to 4.5 stars

Place - Average to Good (Clean) - 2.5 stars

Location - This is where the problem is Parking is a challenge anytime

Price - Guess value for money.

Recommendation: Try it if u r a died hard fan of South Indian food. I guess they live upto atleast food standards.

Best wishes..I am sure they will do well here in Doha over a period and word of mouth and offcourse Qatar Living :-)

I had a bad experience to eat the low quality meals from Sharavana bhavan. Its only maskhara from the tamil lobby in Qatar saying that sharavana bhavan is great. If you eat meals there, you will loose your 15 riyal by which you can eat two better meals from any other restuarant; thats all!

I visited Sarvana Bhavan last night, luckily i got a parking be cause its sunday evening, orderd for Idli vada and dosa, as they are famous for this back home,it is big disappointment,it was very hard and vada half cooked, sambar and idlis, dosa were all bitter in taste, probably they get their dosa blatter from one of the supermarkets, horrible.price are also very high ,not worth.

Far below expectations. It is nothing comparable to the 'Saravana' we all know. The service is poor and food need lots n loads of improvement. And the cleaner boy with his push cart and clatter, in the dining area is totally avoidable and an eyesore.

Well, HSB in Qatar is no an exception. The Oil, Ghee is poured in the food too lavishly. They are over-doing I feel. Mere pouring liberal quantities of oil does not add to taste, anything for that matter should be in right quantity.

Just try the Pongal, the amount of ghee, cashewnuts, its simply crazy. I made my suggestions to the Management, but its of no use. I think the Chefs, Cooks whatsoever is taking a revenge on their Management, if not, he may be out of his sense to pour OIL, GHEE in such quantity, God bless.

Even the Sambar, it is so THICK, RICH, at times it is
suffocating eating tooooooo rich food.

Normally any franchise Contract in Doha does well, at least survives to stay on. But Saravana Bhavan has been a total dissappointment.
I don't blame it entirely on the parking facilities, which are never excellent in any part of Doha these days. But, the standard of food was bad considering the fact that they represent one of the best South Indian food chains in the world. I am a hardcore South Indian foodie, and can tolerate to an extent the variations in chutneys or sambar or Dosas. But this one was a shocker. We tried on two different days to give them the benefit of consistency, but both the times it turned out to be a bad experience. Well, in comparison to Aryaas ( I hold no loyalty to Aryaas whatsoever) or Bharath Restaurants this is 3/10.
Well, its high time they realise that brand name alone doesn't suffice. Deliver and thats important!

Good Indian food. Very nice ambient and cosy place. Service is moderate/good.
Cleanliness: good.
But you have to wait for A VERY LONG TIME before they can serve you. Very dissapointing.

I ate at Saravana Bhavan(Bank Street Branch) last night and was very disappointed.
We ordered our food and a waiter(not the one who took the order)comes after 30 mins and tells us half the items we ordered wont be available. We were really hungry so we told him bring whatever they had.
They brought some of the items that we ordered, but not all. We waited for another 20 minutes for the remaining items in vain and then we got up and told them to give us the bill. Again we had to wait another 15 mins for the bill!!! We could see other angry customers shouting.
The food wasn't great. Not warm.
Last night was the last time I ate at Saravana Bhavan.
Bad service+Bad food=BAAAD RESTAURANT!
PS: no parking space.

Taste is bit ok not extra ordinary. But treatment and costly is worst part. Many better are available in city
