Description:
Istanbul Restaurant serves a wide array of food, including Meza (vegetarians will have no problem here), traditional Turkish dishes laid out as you enter and the standard schwarma (kebab), mixed grills and barbecued chicken. From the moment you glance at its cheerful red and white fracde, you will know this is a cheap and cheerful restaurant rather than a posh joint. But in addition to being cheap (a plate of mixed mezza with a pile of freshly cooked bread costs QR10), the food is delicious and the houmous, to our Western palates, is the best in Doha. The restaurant is one of a chain, but our favourite is the Al Sadd outlet. |

We eat take-aways from Marmara in Al-Sadd at least once a week. Their food is really good and very reasonable. The whole chicken is excellent. |

I eat from here much more regularly than I'm willing to admit. The branch near Center Point Mall offers in house dining and a larger menu than the other branches. All branches serve great schwarma, salads, fatayers and other Turkish foods. Great value food, for a snack or a meal. |

The food is good and cheap. The place is always packed with homesick bachelors looking for a decent meal. If you don't mind the grime in the dining area, it's a worth a try... |

I haven't tried anything else, but I can speak about their shawarmas. To me, the chicken shawarmas are more tender and flavorful. In general, their shawarmas are pretty tasty (reasonably moist, flavorful, they'll drizzle on hot sauce with some real heat, they make the bread themselves, and no weird extras like french fries in the shawarma -ew). Why did I give them 4 stars instead of 5? They didn't have kazandibe, my favorite Turkish treat. |

Their whole chicken is the best! As is their shawarma. Does anyone know if they have delivery? |
