Christmas and New Year

Christmas and New Year falls on a Friday. Let us all demand that malls be open to all. I am calling on the managements of City Center, Villagio, etc to temporarily suspend the Family Day policy on these two very special occasions. It would be a pity to see bachelors, especially Asians, not to be able to celebrate Christmas and New Year inside the mall. Have a heart, Doha malls!!!

City Centre-family day?

I just made a visit to cc on last friday. The security at the entrance blocked me and my friend and told us that its family day.I witnessed many bachelor's getting in.When I asked the security about it he was not responding. The security was not minding them(bachelors)getting in.But he blocked us though we are students and under 18.Do they block only young students??Are bachelors allowed??

Flies in City Center.

Went to city center on the 'family day' last week and noticed an insect right in front of carrefour.

Some 20-something guy in a pristine white thobe, the latest phone in his hand and perfectly tweezed eyebrows, was hovering over a woman getting close to her to say something while she was trying her best to shake him off without causing a scene. Amazing part there was a security person twenty paces away and all he did was provide an audience. In the end, it was my girlfriend who went and stood next to the woman and seeing this insect didn't have the balls to make another 'pass' and vanished among crowd. All this at 7pm on a friday.

I want to buy items but...

I am an expat, I have less than 8 months to go here, I started to items that I can bring back home to my country. My sparetime to go to malls is during thursday and friday. Unfortunately cannot enter Villagio Mall, Hyatt Plaza or City Center because of Family Day.

Those malls I think is the best place to buy... It's very depressing for me... I hope someday they give (thursday, friday) sometimes for expat to enter freely

Family Day

Everybody deserves a day out on Fridays and go to malls to unwind. It is the only day in the week that we can actually eat non-biryani stuffs. Unfortunately, it is declared Family Day for shopping centers like Villagio and City Center. Any suggestions on where can we hang out?

Has rascist day finished in Qatar?

I visited Villagio last Friday and noticed that the signs for Family Day were not there and that security on the entrances was not very visible. There did not appear to be anyone being denied entry.

Does this mean Racist, I mean Family Day been cancelled in Qatar?
