Good Samaritans.....Good Policemen!

I got flat tyre around half past 1pm today along the long road from Landmark Mall to Dafna area. These two Policemen, without any questions and hesitations, changed my car's tyre. I'm posting this so everyone will know that kindness regardless of race, religion, color, gender, profession, etc., will always prevail at times of emergency situations like this. May God bless them.

HOGs drive for QAWS

As some of you may have noticed - the 4th October was World Animal Day and to help spread the word of animal welfare, the HOGs (Harley Owners Group) have very kindly offered to have a drive for us tomorrow afternoon.

4pm tomorrow at Landmark Mall and The Mall will see all of us QAWS members with our stalls and literature talking about QAWS and the world wide plight of animals. All the harleys will be there shining in the sun to show their support. At approximately 4.45pm everyone will be leaving the malls to ride to Villaggio where we will all meet at 5pm (traffic permitting!!) for yet another show of solidarity for animal welfare.

Vodafone's new Free SMS and MMS all weekend

anyone seen this?

Until the end of September Vodafone customers will be able to send unlimited SMS's and MMS's to anyone, on any network in Qatar, at any time, all weekend, for free!

This promotion is available to "ALL Vodafone customers." Existing customers automatically get this and do not need to do a thing other than enjoy keeping in touch with friends and family by sending lots and lots of messages all weekend! Weekends are from midnight Thursday to midnight Saturday.

This promotion follows stage 1 of Vodafone's Ramadan & Eid ‘09 offer for International calling where "ALL Vodafone customers" can call anywhere in the world for no more than 50 Dirhams per minute - to any country, any network, anytime!

Emax at centerpoint is starting promotion from tomorow - 25Qr gift voucher on every Qr250 spend on electronics

Is the same promotion available at their outlet in Landmark mall & Villagio. Pl advice if you have any idea.

Stay AWAY from Vodafone!!!!

If you have, or intend to buy, an iPhone, then stay away from Vodafone. They do NOT support SMS (txt messages) from iPhone.

I received my sim-card last week. I immediately made a test call. That worked fine. Then I sent an SMS as a test. That didn't go through. Hmm... Weird. I tried a couple more times, making sure I had coverage from Vodafone. Then I decided to give their service centre a call, using my Vodafone subscription (after all, I'd just bought 110 free minutes).

I was told that Vodafone was aware of the SMS problem with iPhone. They were looking into it and expected it to be solved soon. While speaking with the customer service rep., we made sure that the problem was not with the settings on my iPhone, ie. the message center number was correct. This was on Thursday.
