asthma
smoking in the office... I can't breath!!!
By bibo on Wed, 11/11/2009 - 9:14amI work in a work station area... and the guy next to me is a HEAVY smoker...
I tried talking to him... but he is rude..
I sent 6 emails to HR, nothing..
I talked to the GM, nothing...
The smoking is horrible, he smokes all day and I am pregnant!!!
I know I can report him to authorities but I don't want to go this way as I still don't have my labor permit so I don't have a legal employment status at the company (I am under husband' sponsorship).
I can't breath.. my colleague has asthma and the poor thing, she is suffocating!
I even asked to move offices, or to install air purifiers... or to move this guy to a closed room!!!
NOTHING
Does anyone know of a good pediatrician for a three year old? I took my son to our health center today ... and the doctor there looked about 12 years old!!! She didnt know what she was on about, and didnt check my sons ears, throat or chest...and her advice was give him cough medicine when my sons asthma has made a re-appearance!!!
We do not have private health insurance...but can get it if its required.
Please give us the doctors name and if possible a contact number/hospital.
Thanks

Swine Flu : Symptoms, Precautions, Treatment
By sk_javedin on Mon, 10/08/2009 - 8:11amAll About Swine Flu : Symptoms, Precautions, Treatment
Although the name 'swine flu' brings up a lot of extra fear and worry, it is important to note that swine flu is just an influenza A H1N1 virus. The big difference is that the current swine influenza A (H1N1) virus has components of pig and bird influenza viruses in it, so that humans don't have any immunity to it. That is what made it more likely that it would become a pandemic virus (have the ability to cause a global outbreak) because it could easily spread from person-to-person.
The Swine flu has been compared to other similar types of influenza virus in terms of mortality: "in the US it appears that for every 1000 people who get infected, about 40 people need admission to hospital and about one person dies".
Organic food has no added nutritional benefit
By britexpat on Fri, 31/07/2009 - 6:47pmSo why am I paying extra for the stuff grown on Prince Chrles' frm ????????????????????
In the most comprehensive study ever to be carried out into the nutritional content of organic food compared to ordinary fare, scientists found no significant difference in vitamins and minerals.
A separate study found there are no extra health benefits to eating organic food rather than meat, fruits or vegetables grown on intensive farms.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA), which commissioned the research by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, concluded there was no reason to buy expensive organic food for nutritional reasons.
A sore throat ... & 48 hours later she was :x
By ochiha on Tue, 14/07/2009 - 4:47pm
Swine flu helplines are being flooded with calls as panic over the deadly virus rises, it was revealed today.
Staff at NHS Direct have fielded more than 52,000 calls in the last week compared to a total of 190,000 since April.
Many of the callers are not thought to be ill but are scared because apparently healthy people have now started dying from the virus.
The rise in calls is despite health chiefs insisting there is no need to panic and trying to reassure people that measures to contain swine flu are in place.
Public fears have increased after yesterday's announcement that a healthy child and a GP with no known underlying problems have died from the virus.
How to deal with SWINE FLU
By astavista007 on Fri, 19/06/2009 - 6:11amSymptoms
• Fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
• Diarrhoea and vomiting
• Vary in severity from mild to severe. Pneumonia, Respiratory failure and even death is possible .
How flu spreads
The main way that influenza viruses are thought to spread is from person to person in respiratory droplets of coughs and sneezes. This can happen when droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person are propelled through the air and deposited on the mouth or nose of people nearby. Influenza viruses may also be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets on another person or an object and then touches their own mouth or nose (or someone else’s mouth or nose) before washing their hands.

Read on to discover the common reasons for 14 peculiar bodily functions.
Yawns (Hikab)
If your body is low on oxygen, your mouth opens wide and tries to suck more in. Yawning is a way to regulate the amount of carbon dioxide and oxygen in your blood. Unfortunately, yawns are nearly impossible to stifle.
