anyone to practice?
By sandiway on Thu, 19/11/2009 - 9:19amHi,
I introduced myself in a previous message.
I am now in Doha for a month and have my paddle etc.
I emailed the Qatar Table Tennis Association but didn't receive any reply about places to play or clubs.
So if anyone would like to practice some and know a good location, please contact me using sfong at qatar dot cmu dot edu
I am at CMU Qatar in Education City and live in the West Bay area.
Look forward to meeting some ping pongers!
Thank you,
Sandiway
I know there is one in City Center... but I am too lazy to find a parking there, just to have KFC take-away...
anywhere else?
DOHA: In a heart-wrenching accident, a five-year-old girl , Dana Walid Sakr (pictured), studying in the Lebanese School in West Bay was knocked down by a four-wheeler in front of the school early in the afternoon on Sunday. The girl was rushed for emergency medical care but died on way to the hospital.
The girl was crossing the road and stopped midway on the road to pick something up when the four-wheeler suddenly appeared and knocked her down.
The mother of the victim, who was waiting on the other side of the road, watched in horror as she saw her daughter knocked down, an eye-witness said.
The four-wheeler, driven by an Arab national, was parked on the other side of the road in front of the school, so it had not picked speed yet, eye witnesses told The Peninsula yesterday.

One in ten residential units in Qatar are likely to be empty in 2010 as supply outweighs demand in the Gulf state, a new report has said.
The study by Engel & Volkers Commercial added that with a large number of residential projects scheduled to be completed within the next year, rents were also likely to take a tumble.
The rents of commercial buildings, meanwhile, would bottom out next year, according to the survey, The Peninsula reported on Sunday.
The report said a large number of projects had been completed in Doha, especially in prime locations like West Bay and along C-Ring Road, putting potential tenants in a stronger position.

The Corniche road will be turned into a “pedestrian-only zone” as part of the plan.
Ali al-Abdullah, Director of Planning at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, said a consultancy was looking into ways to revamp the entire Corniche area.
“We have assigned an international consultancy to assess the situation and look into how they can redevelop the area,” al-Abdullah told Qatar News Agency in an interview.
