Philippine Wins Praise For Promoting Interfaith Tolerance

Just Wanna Share This News
.
The US State Department in its annual review of international religious freedom, singled out the Philippines and Jordan for promoting interfaith initiatives and criticizing China and Israel for intolerance.
The president has emphasized that faith should bring us together, and this year’s report has a special focus on efforts to promote interfaith dialog and tolerance,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in Washington.
Clinton came out strongly against laws around the world that make religious defamation a crime, saying freedom of speech and religion should be equally upheld.

Fattest Countries in the World

Someone posted a question asking if you are overweight will Qatar grant you a visa. Someone responding saying Qatar is the 5th fattest country in the world. However after doing some quick net research its seems Qatar only ranks 36th, whereas the US is 9th and Kuwait a respectable 8th.... the two least fattest countries are Ethiopia and Eritrea but I guess that is not surprising.

However the winner is Nauru whose population is 94.5% overweight... so stand up and take a bow. (If you can....)

After some data handling....

I removed the micro-islands.
I rounded to the nearest %
I reassigned the rank, keeping the same rank for the same %
I didn't want more than 25th rank (the next rank is 28).

US/Kuwait Share #1

This makes more sense.

New health screening procedures planned for job seekers in GCC states

Citizens of seven Asian and four African countries must undergo a compulsory medical screening to obtain residence visa in the GCC countries, according to new procedures “beginning soon”, officials at the ministries of interior and health announced yesterday.
A total of 212 clinics have been designated in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Egypt for this purpose. Syria could be added to the list beginning from next year.
Immigration Department director’s assistant Col Mohamed Atiq said the new procedure was to protect the residents of the GCC countries from contagious diseases.

Sudan leader in Qatar for summit

Sudan leader in Qatar for summit

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has arrived in Qatar for an Arab summit due to discuss an indictment against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He has already visited Egypt, Eritrea and Libya over the past week to drum up support from his neighbours.

Qatar has not signed the ICC charter, which obliges member states to arrest indictees on their territory, but clerics have urged Mr Bashir not to go.

Libya's leader earlier said the ICC was a "new form of world terrorism".

Muammar Gaddafi, who is also president of the African Union, spoke out against the ICC warrant on a visit to the organisation's headquarters in Ethiopia on Sunday.
