Question for photograpgy experts

I am considering to purchase my first DSLR. I have a choice between Nikon D90 and Canon T1i.

I am not so sure about technological differences but there is a big difference in price (1150USD for D90 and 800USD for Canon in USA). Can anybody tell me whether D90 performance against Canon justifies this difference in price?

Repair

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know where to repair my Nikon D90?
I think its dead but if someone knows where I could get it repair please let me know.

History:

It fell down from the top of ref the lens thread was broken and I dont know if the body is till working. I'll try salam store this afternoon.

Any other suggestions please. Thanks.
