Stanford University
An article worth reading...
By dev.in.doha on Sat, 04/07/2009 - 2:25pmA lady in a faded grey dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun suit walked in timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office.
The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Harvard.
We want to see the President,' the man said softly. 'He'll be busy all day,' the secretary snapped. 'We'll wait,' the lady replied.

By asanas2008 on Mon, 08/06/2009 - 8:18amWashington, June 7 (IANS): Rajeev Motwani, the 47-year-old Indian-American computer science professor at Stanford University who mentored Google's co-founders when they were graduate students, has died from a freak drowning accident at his Atherton, California home.
He apparently drowned Friday morning in a backyard swimming pool at the home he purchased three years ago, according to the San Jose Mercury News, a Silicon Valley news outlet.
Friends said he did not know how to swim but was planning to take lessons.
He is survived by his wife Asha Jadeja and daughters Naitri and Anya. The family will hold a private funeral, according to the university's news agency, but a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Filipino golfer, 14, wins SF city title
By gregbais on Tue, 24/03/2009 - 4:03pmSource: Inquirer Bloggers
CALIFORNIA, United States—With a level of focus, not to mention golf game, that belies his age, 14-year-old Carlos Briones became the youngest winner of the San Francisco City Golf Championship, and the first Filipino-American to capture the title in its 92 years as the longest running golf tournament in the country.
Briones sank a tricky downhill 5-foot par putt at Harding Park’s 16th hole, on March 8, 2009, to defeat University of California Berkeley freshman Jamie Core, 3 and 2, in the match play event.
