i am in big lose ,i was in muscat but got good offer from qatar so i resign from my job where my valid visa is till 2010sep in oman and went to doha on buisness visa .my omani employer refused to cancel visa ,i reached to doha and did all the procedure to get resident visa there but visa department refused to give resident visa in qatar as my omani visa was not cancelled.now i am in my country in india ,will omani visa get cancell if i am not visitingto oman for 6 month in countinuosly,may be omani employer has made an absconding report in oman police(will it create any problem in atomatic cancelling of visa ,please let me know as my qatari employer want me to join them in 6 month time.

Ladies,
Looks like qatar driving license is relaxed for expat ladies, I got in my first attempt itself. I was trying nearly a year in Muscat, Oman and police made me to fail just for silly reasons. Wheres here, only one side reverse parking, no round-about tests etc. Also, I have seen some of my friends & neighbour's got license even after 2 or 3 weeks class who have never driven. So ladies, its high time to apply now to make use of this opportunity to get Qatar driving license easily. All the best.

I am Pakistani engineer (10+ years exp) living in Muscat. I am married and have 3 children (8,5,1). Two goto school (Grade-3, KG-2)

Salary offered is

14000 QAR Basic
6000 QAR Housing allowance
580 QAR Utilities
510 QAR Education allowance
Medical for family is covered
Company maintained car is provided

Can I live comfortably and also save handsome amount in this salary. (Two bedroom+ 1 living room flat is required)

I'd like to know how long it will take to drive to Muscat, and how long it takes at each border? How many kilometers are we talking about?

I assume the route would be Doha - Saudi - Abu Dhabi (Sila border) via Al Ain - Muscat.

I'm moving with my family to Doha and I need to move my household goods and furniture from Muscat to Doha.

I've contacted a few companies - some of them do not offer services to Qatar; other big ones like GAC offer to do it for an amount equal to the value of my stuff - just to get it there!

If there's anyone out there who has moved his/her personal effects from Muscat to Doha, let me know which movers you used and what was your experience.

What do I need to arrange, and where, to make a trip from Doha to Muscat, Oman, by own car for the holidays ??

whether we get house in the range of 3000-4000? which areas we can find those.

My wife is a software profession she is into Mainframes where Middle east is not good for mainframes so anyone please advise if she doing any certificate in Java or oracle will help her to get a job.

where can I do eye test for my wife to apply driving lciense? any clinic or only sepcified licensed centre?. she is holding Muscat license. Thanks in advance for ur advise. rgds
