Surviving H1N1 some actual experience

Some advice & some real information that may assist.

The virus is nothing like I expected or I'd been led to believe - so now I'm recovering I did some research

H1N1 is totally different from a normal cold or flu.
1) Rapid onset. You become very ill with 3-6 hours of feeling the first slight discomfort. This thing hits like an express train.
2) High Fever: Fever as in both sweating & ( for 60%) cold chills that shiver & shake you. My temperature went to 102.2 for nearly two nights & a day.
3) For most people there is no runny stuffy nose or any type of mucous discharge. For many people there can be a dry non-productive cough ( which still does spread the disease ). I had no cough or cold-like symptoms at all!
4)A sore throat is not commonly present & wasn't for me.

Swine Flu : Symptoms, Precautions, Treatment

All About Swine Flu : Symptoms, Precautions, Treatment

Although the name 'swine flu' brings up a lot of extra fear and worry, it is important to note that swine flu is just an influenza A H1N1 virus. The big difference is that the current swine influenza A (H1N1) virus has components of pig and bird influenza viruses in it, so that humans don't have any immunity to it. That is what made it more likely that it would become a pandemic virus (have the ability to cause a global outbreak) because it could easily spread from person-to-person.

The Swine flu has been compared to other similar types of influenza virus in terms of mortality: "in the US it appears that for every 1000 people who get infected, about 40 people need admission to hospital and about one person dies".

Kidney Infection Symptoms

When kidney infections or bladder infections are present, the symptoms will usually be low back pain that is poorly localized. A urine test can be done by the doctor, however a simple at home test to identify kidney infection symptoms vs. bladder infection symptoms is to have someone (or yourself) lightly "tap" (with a closed fist) on either side of the spine below the rib cage. If a sharp shooting pain can be felt that "shoots" toward the front of the body, it is very possible your kidney is involved. A urine test is necessary to diagnose an infection or indicate whether another problem may exist confirming bladder problems such as bladder stones, however it can not diagnose kidney cancer.

New Pandemic - new flu

I suffer from this quite often, I knew it was a real disease!!

I went to a dinner party last night, where I, and other guests, enjoyed copious amounts of alcohol. I awoke this morning not feeling well, with what could be described as flu-like symptoms; headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc.

From the results of some initial testing, I have unfortunately tested positive for what experts are now calling Wine Flu. This debilitating condition is very serious- and it appears this is not an isolated case. Reports are flooding in from all around the neighbourhood of others diagnosed with Wine Flu.

How to deal with SWINE FLU

Symptoms

• Fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.

• Diarrhoea and vomiting

• Vary in severity from mild to severe. Pneumonia, Respiratory failure and even death is possible .

How flu spreads

The main way that influenza viruses are thought to spread is from person to person in respiratory droplets of coughs and sneezes. This can happen when droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person are propelled through the air and deposited on the mouth or nose of people nearby. Influenza viruses may also be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets on another person or an object and then touches their own mouth or nose (or someone else’s mouth or nose) before washing their hands.
