PRESIDENTIABLES AYON SA MGA BITUIN

ANO ANG SINASABI NG MGA BITUIN sa kapalaran ng siyam na kandidato sa pagkapangulo ngayong linggong ito? Narito. Basahin, limiin, unawain, at seryosohin. Ngunit laging tandaan ang paalala ni Zenaida 'Syzygy' Seva, "Hindi hawak ng mga bituin ang ating kapalaran.
Gabay lamang sila. Meron tayong free will, gamitin natin ito."
Ulitin natin. Pero sa pagkakataong ito, basahin nang malakas at
imadyinin si Zenaida Seva habang binibigkas ang linya, "Hindi hawak ng
mga bituin ang ating kapalaran. Gabay lamang sila. Meron tayong free
will, gamitin natin ito." At inulit mo naman. Masunuring bata!

Romeo Jalosjos - Pardon !!! Bakit ???

Romeo Jalosjos' turf--Zamboanga del Norte-- is an administration bailiwick. President Arroyo won here in the 2004 elections, leading her closest rival Fernando Poe Jr. by almost 100,000 votes. In the 2007 senatorial elections, the province delivered a 7-5 win to Team Unity candidates, with senatorial candidate Prospero Pichay Jr. emerging as the topnotcher.Jalosjos also belongs to the most prominent clan in Zamboanga del Norte. Five of his kin are incumbent (2007-2010) elected officials. His sister, Cecilia Garcia Jalosjos-Carreon, is already serving her third term as 1st District Representative, while his brother, 3rd District Representative Cesar G. Jalosjos, is on his second term.

Street corner ‘tutorial’

I just had to post this...from an editorial

THE kids watched as I tightened a shoe lace along one of Cagayan de Oro city’s poorer but remarkably clean-swept barangays. A tutorial on urban sociology was the last thing I expected.

“My mother is in prison,” volunteered Clara, 7. Why? “Shabu,” she said matter-of-factly. Paula, 6, claims a neighbor rival tipped off the cops. “Her mother burned all the shabu before the police arrived.”

Will you visit her in the Davao jail? “We have no money. But my lolo has been released.” He’d also been in the clink for drugs. “He often beats us though,” Clara gripes.

They proudly point to “our school.” Paula likes to color. “But I have no Crayolas.” Clara’s schoolbag has a book and a pencil. Nothing else.
