experience with Carrefour

few days back i shopped in Carrefour and paid by my credit card. I also shopped in Lulu at same day and paid by cash instead when the cashier told me that the card was declined.
by the time i received my credit card bill statement, i forgot about lulu. so, when i saw a bill in carrefour, i though it was carrefour (not lulu) who charged me double.
i emailed my complain to the country head of carrefour and later on i had been explained.
i felt sorry and apologized to carrefour for my non-rememberance...
and i was really pleased the way the dealt the entire issue of my complain.
i thought i should share it here coz carrefour deserves to be praised for it.

Industrial irrigation supplies

Hi: where can I find real irrigation supplies/materials for my garden and lawn?
I do not want the retail stuff you see at Carrefour, but the, for instance, black plastic watering pipes one sees used all over Doha's city's flower beds,,,already having drip holes punched in.
thanks

Where to hire/buy a Tent?

Where can I hire a medium size tent? Not the big Arabic style tent.. just a beach tent? Or where to buy one? Checked in Carrefour they don’t have it..

Last option any kind heart person on QL can lend it for a day (tomorrow), and I will return it in same condition :)

WII at Carrefour - BEWARE !!!

I recently bought WII from Carrefour. No warning was given about its compatibility. Anyway after brining it home, I did not get a chance to use it much. Today when I connnected it, it asked for internet connection which I connected. It asked for update and I did. Big mistake, now it does not work any more. I called the dealership in US and UAE both refused any help.

It is because Carrefour is selling an unauthorized version of WII. How can a company like Carrefour sell something like this and cheat their customers. At least private dealers would warn you, not to upgrade your system.

Flies in City Center.

Went to city center on the 'family day' last week and noticed an insect right in front of carrefour.

Some 20-something guy in a pristine white thobe, the latest phone in his hand and perfectly tweezed eyebrows, was hovering over a woman getting close to her to say something while she was trying her best to shake him off without causing a scene. Amazing part there was a security person twenty paces away and all he did was provide an audience. In the end, it was my girlfriend who went and stood next to the woman and seeing this insect didn't have the balls to make another 'pass' and vanished among crowd. All this at 7pm on a friday.

Best place to buy a Macbook?

Hi,

Can anyone reccomend the best place to buy a macbook or even reconditioned/secondhand ones?

I have seen them so far in Carrefour and East?? (apparently a shop that has just opened in city centre mall) at around 4600-4700 QR for 13.3 inch, 2.13 Ghz Intel core 2 duo, 2 Gb RAM, 160Gb HD. I just want the most basic one available really.

If people would advise against buying one here and reccomend ordering it online then shipping it here etc please let me know how you did it and the approx. total cost. (for me sometimes I dont mind paying a little more for less hassle/time)

Many thanks.
