Einstein's Anticipation!
By Dot.Com on Thu, 19/11/2009 - 10:11am
Prior to the creation of the State of Israel, two Jewish terrorist groups were working to cleanse Palestine of its Arab inhabitants and its British occupiers. The more brutal of these groups was Lohamei Herut Yisrael (Fighters for the Freedom of Israel) also known as the LEHI or the Stern Gang after its founder Avraham Stern.
I'm so excited Xmas is Coming!
By exiledsaint on Fri, 06/11/2009 - 7:41pmNow that the shops have started selling christmas decorations it is really starting to feel like that time of the year again. Peace and love to all mankind, (especially the people of the book) and a jolly happy time to be had by all.
However we must remind ourselves of the true meaning of Xmas and not just get lost in drink, food and merriment. Father Christmas died on the cross for our sins and we should never forget the sacrifice he made. The fact that due to the reserection he came back to life to deliever presents all around the world for one day a year, should not mean we forget the pain and suffering he endured at the hands of the awful Israelis in Palestine.
The Tribeca experience: being a volunteer
By heero_yuy2 on Tue, 03/11/2009 - 6:31amLet's just say that rather than getting myself into meeting the famous actors and actresses or even to watch any or all of the films being screened, this wasn't the experience that I got in this previous Doha Tribeca Film Festival highlight events.
But rather the experience as one of the volunteers working to make the event happen.
So we had our all-out meeting on the Aspire Park and saw all of us wonderful people of mixed races who'd like to participate and dedicate their time to make it happen. Here we were now assigned to our preferred departments. We claimed our shirt and badge two days 'fore the start of the event. And on with the show.
Page 7 Peninsular - Lies and more lies
By exiledsaint on Thu, 08/10/2009 - 12:12pmThe first article carries so many inaccurate facts and outright lies it is no wonder that people of different religions end up hating each other.
How the Peninsular can carry articles that inspire hatred is journalism of the lowest kind.
Here are just some of the inaccuracies
1. 1917 British Govt issued Balfour declaration declaring Palestine to be a home to the Jews.
No the govt never issued that and the declaration that Balfour issued only talks about sympathy for the Jewish clause. Go read it if you don't believe me.
2. 1918. Britain and its Arab allies defeat the ottomans and immediately start emigrating European Jews to Palestine.

(In Hebrew, Arabic, and English language with English translations)
A Palestinian widow who has a large lemon tree farm inherited from her father was shocked to know that half of the trees were instantly fenced and wired when a new resident, an Israeli political figure, shifts his new house besides her farm and builds maximum security against possible threats coming from Hezbollah. She filed a complaint to a nearby Palestinian municipal office but nobody cared about it. Until a new hotshot lawyer comes in and helps her defend her rights...alongside the wife of the said political figure.

Iftar tents set up to serve poor..
By dev.in.doha on Sat, 22/08/2009 - 5:11pmCharities have set up Iftar tents for low-income people at scores of places in Qatar.
The state-run Zakat Fund has collected QR6mn through donations and set up 11 Iftar locations that will feed 300,000 people throughout the holy month, according to project manager Mohamed al-Jadii.
“This is half the number of locations we had last year, since we are restricted by the large-scale construction going on in so many parts of the country,” said al-Jadii.
Locations were selected in consultation with other charities to ensure that they did not choose the same place and cause overcrowding, as the Fund’s tents alone would be hosting as many as 1,200 people each.
