10) What if Tim Howard hadn’t fumbled against Porto in 2004?

Manchester United were cruising into the quarter-finals of the 2003/04 Champions League as they led Jose Mourinho’s Porto 1-0 in their second round second leg clash at Old Trafford. Then, in the last minute, goalkeeper Howard fumbled a harmless free-kick and Costinha dispatched the rebound to send Porto through and Mourinho charging down the touchline. Porto would go on to win the Champions League.

Fergie not friendly about Qatar match....

ESPN is reporting that

Sir Alex Ferguson has publicly lamented the scheduling of England's friendly against Brazil in Doha, Qatar, which Ferguson called "some unknown country", and claimed officials arrange friendlies to have a "nice trip on a sunny day"...

Ferguson's latest outburst is unlikely to please the FA, while Uniteds many fans in the Middle East could be left disillusioned by the dismissive comments about Qatar.

(more about getting tickets for the match here).

This comes after it was reported that Serana Williams asked "Does anyone know where Doha is?" when landing in Qatar.

You'd think that people would be more grateful to the role that Qatar is playing in trying to develop and promote sport in the region.

Paul Scholes is better than George Best !

Who says so ?
None other than Sir Bobby Charlton.

From an article in The Sun today....

"ALEX FERGUSON took real flak for the team he picked. A bunch of unknown kids in an important cup game.

No, we are not talking about Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final.

The date was September 21, 1994 when a certain Paul Scholes lined up alongside the likes of Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and David Beckham for his debut.

He would score twice as Manchester United won 2-1 at Port Vale in the Coca-Cola Cup second round.

Questions were asked in Parliament about Fergie belittling the competition with the team he picked. Soon, though, nobody argued with those four playing.
