Philippines NOT a retirement heaven?

I came across an article on Forbes which lists 10 retirement heaven.

I was not entirely surprised that Philippines didn't make the list, but I was somewhat surprised that Malaysia and Thailand made the list.

Here's what Forbes has to say about it:
Thailand

Warmly welcoming of retirees and ideal for seniors on modest budgets, Thailand has everything from bungalows on Phuket's blue lagoons to urban living in bustling Bangkok. Considered Asia's best buy for quality health care at reasonable costs. But the good private hospitals are in Bangkok, so make sure your retreat on the water is within three hours of the capital.

Downside: unpredictable politics.

Extreme cheek piercings at religious festival

Forget about Footy, Tennis or The Qube..

What we really need is a festival in Doha....

How about something like this extreme cheek piercing vegetarian festival in Phuket, Thailand

The festival runs for ten days and involves nine street processions featuring devotees who pierce their bodies with an assortment of weapons and implements

The festival has Chinese origins and is held during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar and is believed to cleanse the body

Diwali (Tamil: தீபாவளி; is a significant festival in Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism, and an official holiday in India
Adherents of these religions celebrate Diwali as the Festival of Lights. They light diyas—cotton string wicks inserted in small clay pots filled with oil—to signify victory of good over the evil within an individual.
In India and Nepal, Diwali is now considered to be a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most Indians and Nepalese regardless of faith. Kerala is the only state in India where Diwali is not a big celeberation.

POWER OF MONEY, BY ADAM KHOO( Singapore 's youngest millionaire at 26 yrs.)

Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars
at my offices in Malaysia , Indonesia , Thailand and Suzhou (China ). I am in the airport almost every other week so
I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars or have read my books.

Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, 'How come a millionaire
like you is traveling economy?' My reply was, 'That's why I am a millionaire. ' He still looked pretty confused.

Could you share with me, where it's better to book the trip there? Through the agencies in Doha? Any particular website? Or you suggest me just browsing the net, and ya'ani "help yourself"?

Please anyone knows which company or where i should go for? i want to send a big parcel like 10-20kgs to BKK

In Swiss is easy i just go to La Post where i can find many on the streets and it's safe and they sent in 2weeks time and its worth the price.
Here in Doha i have no clue where to go. Whether i have to ship or i have to go to post office, really have no idea if someone can help me out will be great.
I just want to sent a parcel between 10-20kgs to Bangkok,Thailand. As I wont be allowed to take overweight on the airplane.

Travelling Problem

I am a muslim with a non muslim girlfriend.

We are planning to go to Thailand and the flight goes through Doha or Dubai.

Will this be a problem?

If I just say she is my friend will that be ok?
