Ministry of Interior

The graft must stop!
By zhohara on Thu, 12/11/2009 - 9:56amI am writing this post to tell all of you who may be having issues with your visas and residencies the bottom line. Go to the Ministry of Interior yourselves and find out exactly what rights to which you are entitled and don’t fall into the trap I did.
Hi,
Can anybody advice me on the following:-
I have got release from my present company (after working 17 months). Now the papers have been submitted by the new company PRO in the following offices:
1. CID office.
2. Ministry of labour.
3. Ministry of Interior / Passport office.
The pro says it takes at least 10-15 days from the date of submission at the respective offices.
Please tell me which office gives the ultimate approval on the transfer? How do we know whether it is approved or not?
Please help

By ummjake on Sun, 25/10/2009 - 8:20amThis just in today's edition of the Peninsula:
"Mother alleges kidnapping of 10-year-old British boy
DOHA: Adam Jones (Fawaz Jamal Juma Abdullah) (pictured), a 10-year-old British national, has been allegedly abducted during his recent visit to Qatar with his mother.
Adam’s mother Rebecca Jones told The Peninsula that she and her family arrived in Doha on October 3 and the boy was abducted on the second day of their visit.
“Since then, I have not seen or spoken to my son and is deeply concerned about his safety,” Rebecca said.
A criminal case has been filed against the suspected kidnapper with the Qatari Public Prosecution office.
Security firms allowed to use firearms
By adey on Thu, 22/10/2009 - 10:17pmDOHA: Private security agencies will now be allowed to buy, import directly or hire arms and ammunitions for use from the Ministry of Interior provided they fulfill a set of strict criteria to be decided by the Interior Minister.
Staff members of a private security agency will, however, require special licences from the Interior Ministry to use a gun.
The manager of a security company which buys or hires weapons will be responsible for their safekeeping.
All private security firms will need special permits from the Interior Ministry to operate.
The manager of such a firm is to be essentially a former Qatari policeman or from any public security agency, including the army, navy or air force.
The Interior Minister can, though, exempt a company from this condition.

Question regarding work visa for 6 months
By purechgo@yahoo.com on Sat, 05/09/2009 - 9:14pmI currently reside in US and my current employer wants me to go to Qatar for 6 months for work purpose (to work in a local Qatar based company - its more like a consulting project)
My question is regarding what are the steps I need to take in terms of the paperwork to get the visa for 6 months?
I hold Pakistani passport and have US resident card (green card)
The info posted on the Qatar embassy states as to send the documents to Ministry of Interior in Doha, through a relative or a friend and I dont have any friend or relatives in Doha
So I will truly apprecaite if anyone could share some insights and guide as to what could be the appropriate steps I could take.
Thanks bunch in advance!

Iran - Question and Answer
By onefatamerican on Sun, 16/08/2009 - 10:57amRaheem
Answer to a Question
Question: After two weeks of protests and demonstrations in Iran, is it envisaged that these protests would continue? What is the purpose of these persistent protests now that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been elected for a second term? Is a coup against the systems of the mullahs and Wilayat al-Faqih expected in Iran, thus stripping the spiritual guide of his religious authorities? In other words, is Iran about to undergo radical changes?
Answer:

Change of car ownership
By jullietromeo on Thu, 09/07/2009 - 12:26pmI bought a secondhand car from somebody this week and noticed that on QL no actual correct procedures are mentioned.
Further more I noticed in the process whereby we where sent back 3 times "to do our homework" things are very unclear and are not being told exactly what is required or handed over. Herewith a summary of procedure to follow;
I Purchased the car from well known person so finaz ok and done.
Before going to police station you will need to arrange;
- Copies of Id of seller and buyer.
- If seller does not come along to police station, a none objection letter from the seller stating that he wants to sell the car to you, In arabic.
- Copy of insurance [valid]transfered to new owners name.
- Original copy reg card.
- Sponsor None objection letter, in Arabic.
Velosi Certification company is harassing my friend. Should my friend must complain to the National Human Rights Commission or to the Ministry of Interior. Velosi is threatening my friend that velosi will ruin his life because he resigned to his work. My friend was assigned in one of the big project of velosi but my friend resigned because of personal health reasons.
VELOSI SHOULD BE BAN BY THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BECAUSE OF THEIR ANIMALISTIC ACTS. IT IS AGAINST THE LABOR LAW TO CONFISCATE THE PASSPORTS OF THE EMPLOYEES BUT VELOSI IS CONFISCATING THE PASSPORTS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES. THEY ARE ALSO THREATHENING THEIR EMPLOYEES AND VELOSI ARE NOT GIVING THE RIGHT BENEFITS ALSO.
