Adam (2009)
By heero_yuy2 on Mon, 08/02/2010 - 4:18pm
Stars: Hugh Dancy, Peter Gallagher, etc.
Directed by Max Meyer
A newcomer neighbor from the upstairs apartment meets Adam, a man who just lost a father, also lost a job, and has Asperger's Syndrome (a kind of autism with higher intellectual capabilities but lesser social interaction). While she just started to live her own life and previously had a bad breakup with a jerk boyfriend, she starts to develop a somewhat mutual friendship and comfort with Adam, though she thought it sounds like a rare case because of Adam's 'special abilities'.

Canadian Teacher/ Behaviour Therapist
By CanadianEducator20 on Wed, 14/10/2009 - 8:07amHi Everyone!
I am currently working as a Junior Kindergarten Teacher in Canada in addition to also working as a behaviour therapist for children on the autism spectrum. I plan to move to Qatar next Summer with my fiancee and am inquiring about possible job opportunities? What kind of opportunities are there for teachers working with children with special needs? How would I go about applying to schools? I would really appreciate your help...
Thank you so much!

Tainted nightmare

"The H1N1 vaccination program, when put into the same frame as the engineered virus to go with it, appears to be a clear effort to divide humanity into two groups; those who have lost their intellect, health and sexuality via a tainted vaccination, and those who have not and are therefore superior."

The Truth About Vaccines

At the end of the eighteenth century, British physician Edward Jenner, with highly questionable medical credentials, initiated the theory and practice of live virus immunization that continues to serve as the scientific basis for the ever increasing vaccination of the world's citizens. With the number of vaccinations given to infants and children rising, kids are receiving doses of toxic mercury and other heavy metals well above environmental safety levels.
Why You Should NOT Vaccinate Your Children
By umm-salayum on Sat, 19/09/2009 - 2:14pmWhy You Should NOT Vaccinate Your Children Against the Flu This Season

This year it is more important that you protect your children and loved ones from the flu vaccines than influenza itself. Here are the reasons:
1. This flu is simply another flu. It is not unusually deadly.
2. This is the first time both season and pandemic flu vaccines will be administered. Both seasonal flu and swine flu vaccines will require two inoculations. This is because single inoculations have failed to produce sufficient antibodies. This is an admission that prior flu vaccines were virtually useless. Can you trust them this time?

Autism
By desaim20 on Wed, 26/08/2009 - 11:29amRecently I passed by Toyota Towers and saw a huge hoarding on Autism. It is good to see the awareness that is picking up in Qatar as regards the problem of Children with Autism.
Long time ago I had posted request and to my surprise most expat parents have given up or consider the cost of Autistic child as wasteful spending as the returns are going to be zero in the long run, is this the approach?? Some want to employ teachers at QR10/- or QR20/- per day.
There some institutions run by expatriates, which are preying on the poor parents by those who can pay. It is not registered and also it is like a day care center and nothing more than that.

Mohammed and his Autistic sister
By g6ree on Thu, 04/06/2009 - 7:39amMohammed is a another Qatari who's blog I came across a while ago. In his latest post, he shares the moving story of his autistic little sister...this is what he had to say..
" I actually deliberated for a very long time with myself about whether or not I should write about this topic. But after a public reading I participated in last week, I was given some advice by someone I met there who said, "if you get worried about how people would react to your written works, you will never be a good writer." So, in the spirit of what he told me, I have decided to write this post.
My little sister was born in 1996. She is the youngest one in the family and was diagnosed with Down Syndrome disorder when she was born. It's a chromosomal disorder that affects the child's cognitive abilities and facial appearance (in varying degrees). It was her who inspired me to write a "Work of Fiction" which eventually got published.
