Court of Cassation
Justice (Part) Served!
By Khanan on Thu, 28/01/2010 - 10:32amThis is such a sad incident. Cannot express my anger and furstration after reading this.
---------------------
DUBAI - The Emirati fisherman charged with raping and killing a four-year-old Pakistani boy on the first day of Eid Al Adha last year has been sentenced to death.
Rejecting the pleas of both insanity and clemency, the Dubai Court of First Instance on Wednesday also pronounced a six-month jail sentence for the consumption of alcohol.
The verdict, in keeping with Dubai’s procedural law, is open to appeal. If upheld, the execution will be by a firing squad. No such execution has taken place in Dubai in more than five years.
Mubarak on Retirement Age- Keeps It at 70
By Happy Happy on Mon, 15/06/2009 - 3:52pmNo, don't get your hopes up high, he has no current plans to warm the bench, but he knows judges should, at 70 of age..:))
"President Hosni Mubarak has resolved the issue over the judges' retirement age by keeping it at 70. This includes the judges of the ordinary courts, the Supreme Council of Magistracy, the Court of Cassation, the Courts of Appeal, the State Council, the Supreme Constitutional Court, the Administrative Prosecution and the State Courts.
The Presidency yesterday sent a confidential letter to the State Council indicating that the political leadership is inclined not to extend the retirement age for more than the age of 70."
